When a supervillain attacks downtown Miami, Lance’s night out takes a deadly turn. Just when he thinks there’s no hope, he’s saved by Adrik, a superhuman who isn’t known for playing the hero. Despite their differences, they find themselves intensely drawn to one another, and Lance is pulled into the mysterious world of superhumans.
Everything goes wrong when Adrik is accused of murdering a beloved superhero, and Lance becomes his only credible alibi. As Lance is unwillingly pulled into the complicated world of superhuman politics, he discovers that his heroes aren’t who he thinks they are, while Adrik struggles to protect what has become the most precious thing in his life.
As the stakes rise, Lance has to decide who he can trust when danger hides in every shadow. With his friends, family, and all of Miami in the balance, can Lance navigate the political and physical dangers of a world he never should have been a part of, or will the darkness of Adrik’s past consume everything Lance holds dear?
