Leah

Hey everyone, here's Leah!

So, here's a bit of clarification to avoid confusion lol. I started working on Leah after I finished Liadrin, but the first idea simply wasn't working. I wasn't happy with it, since the pose was too similar to Liadrin's and the alternative version wasn't really making sense.

But, at the time I couldn't figure out a plan B so I decide to start the Zelda drawing while I thought on a different image for her.

And then a few days later I got this idea and got a bit carried a way and started to work on her lol. But fear not, King Dodongo's drawing is almost finished so I'll finish it tomorrow =D

As for this drawing, I wanted to capture a bit of that "free spirit" of Leah after she joins the hero in the story of diablo 3. I mean, her character was pretty much a "student" of sorts before all happened so she really seemed to embrace the new adventure, as brutal as it was. And I think the 2nd act was the perfect fit for that.

So I hope you guys like her as well!

Glad you liked her! This image was simple but complex at the same time. I wanted to give an idea of her chilling and looking at the horizon (the road trip vibe is spot on), as someone who was finally living her own adventures and wondering what's to come. But it's still a diablo universe, so I had to make an ominous scenario, which is fitting, specially if you know what happens with the character =) So yeah, it was a really interesting image to work at =)

Checking this piece out, I think this might be my favorite piece I've seen of yours: Really like the desolation of the background , and the pose as well as her emotion reminds me of road trip photos, seems as though she's looking towards the horizon, wondering what's in store for her...

Perfect

Thank you! Those "chilling" images are one of my favourites to do =D

thanks =D

Really great work as always! I like the more relaxed look and her outfit! The background landscape is really beautiful as well! :)

Thanks! It was certainly cool to work on hard shadows for this one =D

Holy molly, I love the shading on this one

Hey, thanks for the comment! It was mostly a composition choice to have her facing right. Since the sun is comming from the right of the image, I wanted to create that idea of looking at the sunset (hence why her eyes are slightly closed). If she looked left most of the face would be in the shade. I had to be a bit carefull with the color palette so it wasn't "too yellow". So I added the purple tones in the clouds to give it a bit of contrast and break all those warm colors. Glad you liked her and hope you like future ones as well =D

yes =3

Awesome stuff! Will there be a NSFW version?

Thank you! Her anatomy was interesting to do because even though the pose is not overly complex, I wanted to give subtle hints of movement. Which is kinda tricky to do when the character is sitting. And one thing that I love about direct sunlight images is that it cast really hard shadows so there's a lot of room to define anatom using shadow plays =)

Lee

I wanted to use dark clouds because it's still a diablo universe. So even if she's enjoying the moment, in the end it's still a dark world. =)

Lee

Thank you!

Lee

The detail is phenomenal.

I think you captured the idea of a free spirit rather well. The background scene and lighting adds nicely to the mood. The dark clouds kinda fascinate me they have something ominous about them. Really nice work on the clothing as well The fabric is amazing and looks very life like.

oh I replied in the previous post explaining the changes =D

she was studying while sitting on the floor with her legs somewhat crossed and a bunch of books around her. Problem was that the pose was too similar to Liadrin (but on a different angle) and the concept didn't really worked for the alternative version. Sometimes the concept looks great on my mind but it doesn't really translate well to an image, so I rather scrap it. Since the pin-ups have different versions, the pose/setting has to work out for both. It would totally work as a regular image, but the nsfw version was a bit weird lol. A few of the previous pin-ups were also 2nd-3rd versions lol. Sometimes the concept works on another character but not really on that one. For example, Liadrin's pose/concept was originally the alpha version of Leah (before that version with the books). I usually start the drawings days/weeks before with a very raw version with just broad shapes sketched on a paper under my keyboard. For Leah, I sketched her sitting near a window in a cathedral studying. But there were a few perspective problems of where the books would be, the lightning wouldn't be that insteresting and all that. So when I started to draw on the pc, that pose suddenly made a lot more sense with Liadrin's concept (I already had in mind to draw her enjoying a glass of wine near a balcony, but she was standing up). So I removed the window, made a sort of balcony instead and added the city and was an instant "ok, this looks great". So I had to change Leah's original concept since it was a bit flawed and would end up looking too similar to Liadrin's Usually the final version is different from the original idea. The initial sketchs are more broad concepts than actual functional images =D

Oh, very nice 😄. I really like the pose you gave her, how she's looking off into the distance, a cute slant to her shoulders with a subtle curving motion through her torso, while the crossing of her legs adds to that cute feel to her. The background looks marvellous too with that textured sky, dark clouds being backlit by bright sunlight with the jagged mountains weaving their way through the desolate landscape. While the wall she sits on is itself nicely textured and shaped with cracks running through. The rendering of Leah herself is fantastic, her face and shape of her nose are adorable and I really like the way strands of her hair split off. The parts of her anatomy that we see look amazing, I absolutely love hee clavicles and shoulder, specifically that dark shadow to the side of her left shoulder. I can tell that she's got a very desirable stomach beneath that top 😉, while I think the sharp and hard edge that runs down her right calf defines those planes so well with the contrasting dark shadows and warm lit skin on either side. Her clothes are brilliant too with the textures on the varying materials, all looking so different. You can clearly see that her top and trousers would each feel very different to touch. And of course, they're all rendered terrifically, I love the folds in her sleeves as well as the folds stemming from that knot in her top, while the sharper edged folds in her trousers are also great. Brilliant work once again 😄, I'm always so impressed by your skill and attention to detail, as well as the tasteful sexiness of your ladies 😉

Adorable <3 Glad you did a Diablo 3, that's what I'm playing atm and there not enough great artwork of it imo. Still curious about that first version tho ;)

Faithel

She's lovely! I'm really curious how you did the first version, mind sharing it?
