Sarah Pezzini - Preview

Hey everyone! It was a tricky choice of what idea to follow for this character. In the end I wanted to show one of the initial scenes of her contact with Witchblade, where she basically has to choose between staying alive or ... dying =D

So yeah, there will be a bit of blood/wounds on this one (nothing too extreme) and I also wanted to explore some different angles to the scene, so an down-up angle sounded interesting to show the gauntlet kinda "clawing up" across her arm and body.

Hope you guys like it!

Thank you! I think it creates an interesting point of view to see it "climbing" across her arm =D

I did consider the red dress scene but in the end it wouldn't work out for the image I had in mind because she was mostly "lying dead" and the gauntlet went to her and did the whole thing. While the 2nd time (the one I chose) she was shot in the arms, so she had a lot more awareness of what was going on =D

Oh great..Witchblade was one of my favourite comic series. Even for a long time after they "desexualized" the series and you had not that much sexy stuff to look at lol ^^. Good thing they brought it to an end in 2017. though. It was really "meh" in the end. Don't know how the reboot is doing. But Sarah is definitely a bad ass and cool character and I'm happy you'll paint her. Good scene and pose you chose. That red dress in the comics was quite nice to look at while ripped during her first contact. But Jeans are ok as well as far as I see in the sketch. :-)

I'm really liking the pose and angle for this piece, the lower angle with us looking up at her, combined with the opposing positions of both of her legs, with one thigh foreshortened, while her torso subtly leans and twists away from her lower body creates a fairly dynamic view of her. I also really like the indication we have here of her hair, how it falls away to one side, strands blowing across her face with the larger body of her hair looking thinner on one side, giving a nice asymmetry. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing this piece finished and to see what colours will be used 😄
