It's been quite some time since I've been wanting to do a piece with shadow and light areas, and I also wanted to play a bit with hair in motion and neck lines.
So a few days ago I had the idea of combining all those things into a single image =D
It's just a simple and cute moment of Iris dropping the bun on her hair =)
So I hope you guys like it!

2019-02-26 22:31:32 +0000 UTCI have to say it took me a few hours (and a LOT of references) to get the idea out of my head into the image. Fortunately, I found out there was a trend a year or so ago of "Bun drop challenge", which is pretty much short videos of girls with (really) long hair loosening buns and the hair unfolding in slow motion. Then I had to addapt it to Iris curly/shorter hair but I think it will come out nicely at the end lol. And I thought it would be a nice touch to have her playing with her necklace over her fingers =D

I really like the pose and angle for this one and how she's turning her head our way, the higher angle letting us see the curving arch of her back, while the asymmetry of her arms and falling motion of her hair adds more dynamism to the painting. As has already been said, she looks so alluring with how she looks back at us, while the fingers delicately tracing her chest also adds a sensual feel to her pose. And I love the lighting here with the bright light running through her face and along her back being quite striking against the shadows. The contrast between the two sides of her face also looks great and already we can see that the effect on her upper back is going to be very interesting with how it's defining her shoulder and shoulder blade. You've also done and excellent job on her hands and how the fingers are shaped as they bend. Her right hand looks especially good since we can see how the light is shining on the tips of her fingers and thumb. Marvellous work so far! πππππ I'm very eager to see how her hair is going to look when finished, as well as her always distinct eyes.
