Had a lot of fun working on the background, tried out new techniques and I have to say I'm really happy with the result!

My biggest inspirations were in fact the concept arts. I really liked how they had more of a pink/pale skin. They made the character really unique, so I based her more in those concepts than the actual ingame model.

2017-09-30 10:27:49 +0000 UTCThe process is not really hard but definitely more complex than something I can explain in a few lines lol. But the general idea that I try to do when drawing backgrounds is to think on "planes". 1st plane, the grass on the ground 2nd plane, her 3rd plane, the log she's leaning 4th plane, the trees on the side 5th plane, a couple more trees 6th plane, the final trees 7th plane, the skylight in the background trough the foliage. When I organize like that, it makes more sense to me in terms of what I have to do to creath depth, perspective and what not. I'll likely make a video tutorial in one of the next months explaining all the details I go trough =)

2017-09-29 18:10:53 +0000 UTCI wanted to play a little with that alluring look or her in contrast to a somewhat eerie background. I didn't want to go as far as make the forest look too creepy or dark but still misterious in a way. Something you'd find in a fantasy game =)

Great work on the jewelry and the light reflection on the metallic surface. You picked a very interesting background here with a lot small details. Creating all the lighting and shadow between the trees sure takes a lot attention. Really nicely done.

2017-09-28 23:01:23 +0000 UTCI've been loving watching you paint this throughout you livestreams and even though I largely knew what to expect of the finished piece, I was still staggered by how beautiful this is! ππ I am just blown away by the colours that you've used, the bright blue of the centre background looks lovely π and I adore the mossy greens growing over the wood tones as well as the greens of the grass π, but my absolute favourite has to be the purple tint that you've given to Morrigan herself. She stands out beautifully against the other colours and purple's my favourite anyway so she's a joy to look at πππ. I've been praising so many things during the livestream so I'll just try to summarise in this comment πΈ. The textures are incredible, from the tones of her skin, the materials of her clothes, the wood of the trees and their many planes and surfaces, the grass looks great too, I love that the foremost blades are almost silhouetted and distinct from the greener tones around her. The way the trees that are furthest away blend into the blue looks great too. The trees have a great flow to them with how they bend and curve, while Morrigan's pose is a terrific mix of innocence and allure. Her anatomy looks fantastic, my favourite parts being the knee and calf of her left leg as well as how her left pec wraps up onto her shoulder and her face is just beautiful, particularly those purple lips and dark outlined eyes πππ. Sensational work, this may well be my favourite painting of yours! The colours and atmosphere are just so enchanting ππππ.
