Cruella

Hey everyone, here's the finished version of Cruella!

Was going to post it yesterday, but there was that final "little adjustments" to be made so I thought it was better to give a final look this morning to make sure everything was perfect =D

So, for this one, I decided to mix her modern hairstyle (which btw I love it) with a bit of the original look of Cruella , with the black dress and gloves, covered in a white fur coat, and the cigarette (there's a version without it btw). Also, I decided to make a version with stockings because .. why not? =D

And she can't be the a villain without that "villain look" with lightning crackling on the background and all that. =D

So it was quite fun to do this one, so I hope you guys like it.

Also, just a heads up, all the links from Dropbox will be removed by the end of June, and will be transfered to MEGA, which are going to be completely different links. So if you have rewards from previous months that you didn't download, I advise you to do so. Because if everyone decides to message me on july asking for new links for several rewards from previous months, it's going to be a nightmare ;) .

Thank you! It's really fun to make those characters that have a lot of versions, because it's possible to "mix match" and create a unique version of it, that still makes sense. I absolutely loved the new version of her, but I think it would look classy and sexy on the old dress. Which is funny, because she was horrible and skeletical in the classic animation. But the fur and dress combination would be really sexy. The colors were one of those "I don't know exactly what I'll do, but I'll figure it out along the way lol" ... because I knew her colors, but the background was a mistery. I actually tried to use the movies pallete with brownish/green colors but the contrast with the black and white and red from her was terrible. So I browsed a few scenes from the classic animations and found out there were actually a lot of red curtains on her mansion, and when I changed the curtains to red, it instantly worked. Because instead of just being something on the background, they framed her better. Quite cool to make a villain this time around, so it would definitely be fun to do it again in the future =D

why thank you! While cheesy, I think it's a nice setup for the mood of "villain" lol

Lee

thank you! Initially the curtains posed a bit of problem for me because they were greenish, but when I tried out red, it was one of those "that's what I'm talking about" moments lol

Lee

thank you! I'm glad you liked it!

Oh yes! I've been looking forward to this one and she is looking absolutely stunning 😻😻😻😻😻 I really love the overall colours, with the dark, cool colours of the outside sky framed between the rich red curtains, with Cruella's monochrome hair and clothing colours contrasting well with each other and her own skin tones. Her rich, red lips are also so very striking. The background rendering looks fantastic, I adore the curtains with their rippling folds, defined by those deep, dark shadows. The texture of the material is gorgeous and the edges are accentuated very nicely by that pale green edge-lighting. The crack of lighting and that almost greenish colour to the exterior give a great sense of atmosphere to the whole scene too. And as always, your attention to detail is terrific, with the wooden sections on the windows having all their plane changes, grain patterns and variance in tone across them. Cruella herself looks utterly exquisite! That fluffy texture of her coat is just brilliantly done and I love that it receives that same edge-lighting as the curtains. The definition of the thick material and how it spreads over her body looks terrific too. Looking at the black dress, I am in love with the textures, the gloves are just gorgeous and I especially like how there is some warm tinting running through them, adding a warm contrast to the black and the edge-lighting. I also really like the whole definition of her raised arm and that twisting anatomy under the glove. The shine lines on both hands look really great too and I like how they blend back into the main black colour. The dress too receives that lovely warm lighting which adds a great contrast to the material over her breasts, hip and thigh. The textures are all beautiful and I just love the rippling folds running through the lower half. My favourite part is where the folds over her thigh then sweep down towards the middle of her legs, being pushed there as her left leg moves forward. Cruella's hair is so good too! Both the white and black are so well defined with a tonne of detail and I like how the hair receives a mix of those cool edge-lights and warm tones mixed in, with the latter being especially noticeable within the black hair. The way the hair is defined on the sides, where so many strands twist, curl, meander and overlap is just brilliant! The textures of her skin look so gorgeous too and I am especially in love with her shoulders and upper arms, which really pop with those cool edge-lights. The anatomy and plane changes all look so good and I really like her figure, with this thin dress material spreading out over her smaller breasts, with the V shape framing the insides of the breasts and chest, making those skin tones look lovely and distinct. The exposed leg has a great texture too and I really like the soft light running down the centre plane, smoothly blending out towards warmer, darker tones on the sides, giving it great definition. The face is absolutely beautiful too! I really love the definition of the nose and the eye-sockets, with the darker tones there standing out well against the brightly lit planes of her face. Her very pale irises and dark, black make-up also look very distinct, as do her lips which just have the most gorgeous, luscious texture. Absolutely fantastic work on this piece! She looks beautiful, the colours all pop so well, there's an insane level of detail and texture and you got a great atmosphere to it all. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

A new proof of your talent, if one can still doubt it. It is really a very nice work. I love the storm and the lightning through the window. What would a vilain be without some weather effects! This month of June is off to a great start! Great work.

Your level of quality here is, as always, shockingly high. I particularly love the way the colors contrast off of each other, and how textured all the materials appear to be. Very well done indeed!

She's a good subject for your art, and you've captured the actress perfectly.
