Alternatives to fix the schedule issue
Added 2022-01-26 19:56:54 +0000 UTCHey everyone, in the past few months we had an issue with rewards being a few days late due to a number of real life events that prevent me from keeping my usual work time.
TL:DR for those who were not around, last year I was in the moving process to a new place. By the end of october and most of november I had to constantly check how the revenue was going, early on december I actually moved to the new place, and then by the end of december there were holidays.
So what was once a day or two of delay became almost a full week by the end of the year.
And being 100% honest, it's not something that I'm happy with because I don't really like working behind the clock. So I thought on 2 ways of fixing it.
Option A) Let the schedule "fix itself" by being slightly "less late" by each month. That would mean having late rewards for several months until it's back on track.
With this choice, January rewards would be:
- Carmen Sandiego pin-up (nsfw)
- Elizabeth voyeur. (nsfw)
- Iris & Maya series (4 images sfw only)
February rewards would be:
- pin-up (nsfw)
- pin-up (nsfw)
- pin-up (nsfw)
- voyeur (nsfw)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Option B) For January I let you guys choose 1 reward from a previous month (similar to the christmas gift I did on december) as the "4th image", so we can get back on track next month.
With this choice, January rewards would be:
- Carmen Sandiego Pin-up (nsfw)
- 1 past work of your choice
- Elizabeth voyeur (nsfw)
- Iris & Maya series part 1 (the first 2 images sfw only)
February rewards would be:
- Iris & Maya series part 2 (the 3rd and 4th image sfw only)
- pin-up (nsfw)
- pin-up (nsfw)
- voyeur (nsfw)
Also I would split Iris series (the last work of this month) so there's a better better distribution between sfw and nsfw images, since this series is only SFW images.
So make sure to vote on the option you prefer.
-----------------------------------------------------------
On the subject of the series
I'm considering splitting the Iris/Maya series on different months. The series (those sequential 4 images that are grayscale of Iris doing something) started as very "simple" drawings with little to no background so it was very possible to make 4-5 images in a single week. But eventually they evolved into more complex drawings and started to be a small "narrative" by themselves so since 2020 I used 2 weeks to create the images.
But now with Iris and Maya, they might not always have nsfw versions. So I'm considering splitting the series into 2 months (similar to what I did with "Bath" that was created in May/June 2020).
Basically instead of having a month with:
pin-up + Series + voyeur
It would be 2 months with
pin-up + pin-up + series part1 + voyeur
pin-up + pin-up + series part2 + voyeur

B. Artists should never work in stress. It always effects the end result too. Take your time.

2022-01-27 15:17:28 +0000 UTCB is fine. Seems like a lot less stress on your end. On the matter of the Series: I think splitting it up is better. I like your OCs but I´m also here for the NSFW imagery.

2022-01-27 08:50:26 +0000 UTCDo what you need to do Krys. And I vote option B; imo, it's best for everyone including yourself.

2022-01-27 05:13:06 +0000 UTCVoting B--sounds like it would be better for you and your stress levels, and that's important too.

2022-01-26 23:31:36 +0000 UTCB Natural, B less aggressive, don't get further b-hind schedule.

2022-01-26 23:12:15 +0000 UTCOption B is best for your health, and I recommend you considering it as an option any time you feel really under stress or behind. You have a very solid library and I think many of us will be thrilled to pickup something we missed. Let the benefits of all your hard work actually work for you when you need it!

2022-01-26 21:47:29 +0000 UTCSome people work better in chaos or stress. That being said; I don't, nor do most people. You giving us the option is great and all, but you should do what works for you best! I chose B cause that's what would work best for me. You do you!
2022-01-26 21:44:38 +0000 UTCI'd vote for a "Krys decides what's best for Krys" option if there was one and I'm hoping this poll contains two great options for Krys that he can't decide between.

2022-01-26 21:43:48 +0000 UTCLike the other commenters here, I'm not worried about the schedule and I'd much rather you do whatever is most comfortable for you and less stressful 😸

2022-01-26 21:43:04 +0000 UTCI say you do what feels best for you, if you need to take more time for each piece then go ahead.

2022-01-26 21:41:55 +0000 UTCI can’t say enough how much I appreciate the communication and transparency; I can’t imagine that art improves (or is any more fun to create) with additional stress, so option B for me.

2022-01-26 21:05:22 +0000 UTCI’m not terribly worried one way or another about the strict timing. You do amazing work and always deliver on what you promised, so if it takes longer into the month for things to arrive, that is no issue to me, hence why I voted A. That being said, do what makes you comfortable and lets you have the best rhythm because I’m sure we’ll all love it either way.

2022-01-26 20:11:43 +0000 UTCOption B. Life happens, there'll always be _something_. You could also offer a third option of taking a whole month to catch up / get ahead and offer a few past works in lieu.

2022-01-26 20:11:31 +0000 UTCOption B sounds like the easiest and least stressful on you. I'm also really glad that Iris and Maya have turned into its own thing with a narrative and all. I'm such a sucker for best friends-to-lovers stories. I hope you enjoy what you're doing with them and I'll be happy with getting any amount of IrisxMaya each month.

2022-01-26 20:08:56 +0000 UTCYou're the most transparent and vocal person I follow on Patreon, whatever you need to do to get back on track, I will support.

2022-01-26 20:05:34 +0000 UTCHonestly it doesn't bother me with rewards being behind schedule. It's not like my life becomes drastically altered because the art isn't in my inbox first thing. Probably most others here would feel the same. I'm voting option B because it seems like it'll take the most stress off for you!

2022-01-26 20:03:35 +0000 UTCIris and Maya drew me here like Marcia. Anything with them is fantastic, more than that is just icing on the cake. B seems inifinitely less stressful for you and seems the most logical choice.

2022-01-26 20:02:55 +0000 UTCI’d rather you feel comfortable in your workflow than stressed and under pressure! That’s not so good for creative juices

2022-01-26 20:01:07 +0000 UTCI'm mostly here for Iris & Maya. I don't mind as long as they get something, SFW is also fine :)
