Helga Sinclair

Hey everyone, here's the finished version of Helga Sinclair from Atlantis!

I always find it cool when they make those characters that are 100% intended to be the femme fatale badass, and just embrace the look and attitude.

I loved the idea of the first scene we meet her, but I didn't really like the monochromatic blue light of it, so I changed it a bit and made a scene into the mansion instead =D

Also, by the end of the image, I totally realized that if they really are going to make a live action version, she could be played by Ana de Armas lol.

Anyway, hope you guys like it!

Love Helga, and hope we'll get to see more with her -- including Voyeur.

I joined just yesterday after seeing it on Deviantart. Am I too late?

I hope I havenโ€™t missed the PSDs for this one.

ironically, it didn't occur to me to think of the biggest example of femme fatale lol

Lee

Definite Catherine Tramell vibes. Nice work!

Thank you! I really liked the idea and pose of the original scene, but I thought it would look better in warm tones (everything looks better in warm tones lol). I think it made a more cozy and sexy atmosphere. Initially I thought the image might look too dark, but I think the contrast between the light and shadows areas make her pop a lot more. And rooms lit only by the fireplace tend to have really hard shadows, so it makes sense.

Lee

thanks!

Awesome pictures.

Last I heard were rumours that Guillermo del Toro would direct it. Would be awesome if that came true.

Ana de Armas would be PERFECT for Helga! I never wanted to see such perfect casting happen so bad.

If they ever do a live-action remake of the animated film, Ana De Armas would be a PERFECT fit for Helga. So magnificent.

Oh the warm atmosphere in this piece is just so beautiful! I love the background with the rich red chair, warm and reflective tiles and even the grey stones on the wall have this gorgeous red tint to them that contrasts really nicely with the darker tones towards their top.ย  All of the detail and texture throughout all of the background is insane, from the softer cushion of the sofa, to the rough stone wall, the shiny and reflective tiles and the grain of the various wood surfaces. Honestly, could spend ages just talking exclusively about the backgrounds that you paint! (And I do like the blue in the top left, just adding a nice little bit of cool contrast to the scene) As for Helga, her dress is simply amazing. I love how the material looks thin and light as it drapes over her legs with beautifully rippling folds. The warm reddish tones mixed into the black material are just marvellous too and alongside the shadows, really make those folds pop! The hard edges and painterly textures in these folds are so nice too, I really like the crinkly feel i gives to them. The tighter, more creased folds in the top half of the dress are great too and the smooth, subtly shining textures of the material are lovely. And the bright red lighting mixed in looks amazing here too and highlights the shapes of her breasts so well. I also love the sharp shine on her shoes and how the bright lights wrap around where the toes would be, defining the corners/plane changes of the shoes. Her hair is brilliantly detailed and I love the contrast in tones with the bright, golden blonde set against the shadows, giving the hair this vibrant shine. The definition of her legs is just fantastic, I always love seeing these large, thicker areas of light and shadow set next to each other. The contrast in tone is always so striking and the definition of the calves and feet and their plane changes is so clear. The rest of her body is terrific too and I do love the smooth definition of her chest and those gorgeous warm tones of her breasts and collarbone/neck area. (Oh and having one strap of her dress sliding down her shoulder is just too sexy!) And just like with the legs, the strong contrast in light and dark for her face is so striking and gives her plane changes such great definition. I also love how you have some blue tones mixed into the shadows which adds to the contrast and vibrancy. Her bright eyes are really captivating too, as are her rich, luscious red lips. Beautiful work on this piece! The level of detail is as staggering as ever and I love adore the warm, sensual atmosphere with these colours and lighting effects. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Are you sure you DIDN'T just draw Ana de Armas instead? :)
