Pecu's Year in Review [2024]

This is gonna be a long read where I try to remember what all I did this year since the past few have been a blur.

It’s finally that time of the year: the end. I don’t typically like looking back too often. Too focused on my future plans to sit back and reminisce, but this year has been quite productive. Between comics and image sets, I feel that I’ve found my flow. I didn’t really have a goal or resolution for this year. I tend to “play it by ear”. It’s the spontaneity that keeps me motivated. And 2025 probably won’t be different.

So let’s start at the beginning.

BUN BASH CHAPTER 4

Going into the new year, I was already hitting the ground running. Bun Bash, a series that I started in the Summer of '23, is one of my pet projects, and I wanted to dedicate the year to getting more chapters out. Chapter 4 was part 2 of a side chapter. While I was still trying to figure out the direction of the main story, I wanted to take this time to really figure out the art direction of this series, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. At the moment, I am still figuring out the story direction moving forward. Unlike my previous comic projects I would like to actually have a plan. Hopefully in 2025, I will be a little more consistent.

CAFFEINE RUSH 2

This was meant to be a MUCH smaller project, but it ended up growing into something way, way bigger. Caffeine Rush 2 is a sequel to a comic made in 2021, based on a fictional drink I made up called Bust. The drink concept honestly took a life of its own, and it’s really cool to see so many people doing their own thing with the drink concept! Caffeine Rush is really just an excuse to make the horniest art I can muster, and there will likely be more comics in the future. Maybe not to the scale of this comic tho. This comic was 72 fucking pages, which beats out the previous longest comic, Tap Out. As cool as it would be to make long fuck marathons like this, they just take way too long, and I just don’t have the steam to keep doing this consistently.

Though to be fair, I was honestly running on horny fumes working on this comic so that may have helped…

INTERMISSION…

Naturally, after this comic, I took a brief hiatus. Over the summer, I took some time to myself, learned some piano, made some music, and just tried (TRIED) not to do any work. Towards the end of my hiatus I did work on a small collaboration with the smut writer, Umbrelloid, which was a fun little change of pace!
But by August, I was ready to jump back into it!

BUN BASH CHAPTER 5

After three rewrites, I finally figured out a general plan for how I wanted to continue Bun Bash, so I jumped right into the next chapter, introducing a couple of major players in the story. Lynn was actually an OC I revealed a while ago, but when I decided to make this into an actual series, I kinda put her back in the oven for a little longer.

One of my biggest inspirations for this comic was Hong Kong action film, and in this comic, I really wanted this chapter to have a lot of choreographed action, which was pretty challenging to pull off in comic form. In a perfect world, this series would be animated, sigh. That said I am happy with how this turned out. And by this point, I got an assistant to help me with the comic, so hopefully in 2025, I’ll be able to put out more comics more consistently!

DATE NIGHT

As we approach the end of the year I had an idea for something a little different. Something I’ve been thinking about for a couple of years now: How Abby and Amber met. I don’t have much to say about this one, as it’s still in progress. Next year there will be more pages!

NAUGHTY MOUSE

This was another one of those “off the beaten path” projects. I’m pretty bad when it comes to keeping up with the holidays. It’s been a while since I did any kind of “Christmas Special”, so I wanted to make up for it this year. It’s been a while since Bryce got any action!

PRESENT DAY

Which brings us to now. I recently just got home from a holiday trip. It’s 11:50am, 36 degrees and cloudy, and this coffee is going through me. I don’t have much more to say. 2025 will just be a continuation of the last. I have no big resolutions, but I do have things planned!

Finally, I want to thank you all. To my patrons, those who buy my comics, my followers, those RP gooners in the rule34 comments. I’m grateful to have so many people supporting me and allowing me to keep making indulgent art for so many years. 2016 Pecu would’ve never known that he’d be doing this for a living. In fact I don’t know WHAT I would’ve done had I not made that Tumblr page way back. I don’t think I would’ve made all the friends that I have.
