$10,000 per Day in Manufactured Spend from Home

Introduction

Fluz is an application for generating gift cards in real-time and getting cash-back for doing it, with an intended use case for buying during checkout online or at an in-person retailer for a little extra back on the purchase. It's basically a cash-back version of MileagePlusX.

Of course 1-5% cash-back at the Adidas Outlet is fine and better than a swift kick in the pants, but that's not the main use case for us. Instead, Fluz has a set of "hidden-stores" that  generate Visa and Mastercard gift cards of up to $200 in value, and another set of "hidden-codings" for generating bonus category spend at stores like Walmart and Amazon.

Here's the kicker: the CEO of Fluz likes manufactured spenders and makes money when we buy hidden-store gift cards or hidden-coding gift stores. They've specifically enabled us and currently see us as a profit center, a true symbiotic relationship. That makes this deal juicy and hopefully long-lasting.

Access

There are two ways to access Fluz:

Anyone can download the mobile app, create an account, and start spending. If you use a referral link you'll earn three vouchers which are effectively worth $10.50, and the referrer will get a voucher worth $3.50 and a few cents every time you buy a gift card.

To get into the Power Portal you have to apply and be approved by Fluz. There are two ways to get your application approved:

Generating Visas and Mastercards

Hidden-stores are found in the mobile app by scrolling all the way to the bottom and looking for "Limited Time Stores". As of the last month or two though, these aren't available most of the time unfortunately.

In the Power Portal, you search for a hidden-store and purchase. You'll then get a link to a gift card, possibly fill out registration info (name, address, phone number), and ultimately get a card number, expiration, and CVV. Gift cards typically expire in six or seven months.

Hidden-Stores

Each hidden store codes as a specific category/MCC for the sake of credit card bonused spend. You'll find office supply stores, gas stations, advertising agencies, software stores, and similar that all generate a Visa or Mastercard. Here's a current list of stores and their MCC for credit card purchases:

So, if you want to earn 3x on your Chase Sapphire Reserve which bonuses at dining and travel, buy from Think Sweet, Elot, or La Pollera and you'll get a Visa or Mastercard with 3x Ultimate Rewards points from Chase.

Note on coding: Fluz changes things from time to time, and not all codings work on all cards. As an example, Han's doesn't code as 3x on Citi Premier, though it does on the Citi Custom Cash. Most things except Think Sweet aren't currently coding correctly on AmEx.

Liquidation

There are three types of gift cards that Fluz generates:

Of course other liquidation techniques work too, watch for more options in future posts, and check #liquidation in Slack.

Knowing Which Card You're Getting

This used to be an art, but recently Fluz has made it easy to determine which type of card you'll be getting. First, for each hidden-store there are now three varieties that show up in the power portal. Let's take OfficeSupply.com as a specific example -- if you search for "officesupply", you'll find three results:

Hidden-Codings

In addition to Visas and Mastercards, Fluz can also generate bonused gift cards for Amazon and Walmart. If you search for "amazon" in the Power Portal, you'll see (not a comprehensive list):

Of course these stores are useful for getting 5x on all of your Amazon purchases without going to Office Depot/OfficeMax.

Limits

I haven't figured out the rhyme or reason behind Fluz limits, but a Power Portal user is limited to $10,000 per day (or $100,000 per day if you have a legitimate business, apply for a business account, and are approved). Each store has its own limits too which are clearly displayed on the Power Portal. Stores typically have a $1,000-$6,000 daily limit, and the limit resets at 7 PM Eastern / 4PM Pacific.

Referrals

As usual, find a friend that has Fluz and ask to use their referral link, they'll appreciate it. Failing that, feel free to use mine at this link or with code: MEAB

Final Thoughts

The CEO of Fluz recently said that new changes are coming that allow you to pick a category/MCC and a gift card provider, and then generate a gift card of up to $10,000 for a fee of approximately 1.5%. We don't know how that will affect the existing gift card structure though.

There are a few good groups out there for Fluz specific discussion. Our own @Nic on slack has a good one but it's nearly full due to WhatsApp limitations so he may not be able to get you in depending on timing.

And finally a warning: I’d avoid spending on Fluz with Citi cards and paying off the balance with the gift cards you bought – that tight loop will get you shutdown if eyes ever end up on your account.
