As planned, Ezekiel bypassed Erathon with the help of Simon, who was guiding them towards the road less used. It was a pity since Erathon was the first large town that they had encountered, and it would have been nice to explore it, but because of the situation with the noble family that was captured by the bandits and with Simon himself joining the said bandits and was a runaway serf, they had no choice but to avoid the said town.

The travel was leisurely, but this time, Ezekiel had to skip casting spells to avoid being noticed by people from the nearby town.

The good thing about Simon being their new cart driver was that Ezekiel could join his brothers inside the cart, but he didn’t disturb their playtime. He started creating a study plan for the boys since missing their lesson last night irritated him a bit. He wanted to teach the boys to read and write as soon as possible so they would be able to function normally in a village or a town.

Ezekiel knew that in most backward worlds, most of those who could read and write were nobles, but he wanted his brothers to become learned people. Mostly, he wanted them to read and write the local language soon so he could teach them English, and then he could share Earth’s wonderful media content with them.

Not only that, Ezekiel himself wasn’t an expert in the local language, and teaching his brothers their letters would allow him to learn better.

The plan that he was making would consist of a five-day lesson plan, and he wanted to make a system based on the basic grammar and letter book that his previous tutor lent him.

“Kel, what are you doing?” Robert asked.

“I’m creating a study plan for you and Luke. I missed teaching you your letters last night, and with this plan, I shouldn’t miss it anymore,” Ezekiel answered his brother.

The funny thing was that Robert and Luke both pouted, which was adorable, in Ezekiel’s opinion.

At around midday, Ezekiel asked Simon to park the cart beneath a tree big enough to shade them from the sun. He could see that Simon was curious why they were stopping, and he answered the man-boy’s unasked question.

“It’s time for lunch!” Ezekiel announced, but Simon still had a questioning look on his face.

Robert saw Simon’s curiousness, so he told the man that they ate three times a day. One for breakfast, one for lunch, and one for dinner, and sometimes they even had snacks in between meals. The information seemed to flabbergast their newly hired guardian, and Ezekiel was enlightened as to why Simon kept eating a lot during meals. Simon probably thought that they ate once or, at most, twice a day.

Ezekiel asked Simon to feed and water Prince Charming after he gave their guardian the donkey’s food and water. While Simon was doing so, he retrieved several bento boxes from his 4th tab space to the table that was placed inside the cart. Ezekiel then purchase a fourth chair which was part of the set of the table and chairs that they were using so Simon could sit with them.

As expected, everyone ate a lot, and just like before, Ezekiel thought that it was because Simon’s eating prompted him and his brothers to eat a lot as well, just like those viewers of Mukbang Videos. He then confirmed his decision that after they were far enough away from Erathon, like maybe after three or four days, they would have to stop somewhere so he could cook a lot of food that he could store in his 4th tab space.

Ezekiel got used to just retrieving bento boxes from his 4th tab space whenever it was time to eat and it was convenient. He didn’t have to waste time cooking while everyone was already hungry.

It didn’t even matter if they stayed in a place for several days just to cook since they were not on a schedule. It was late spring so summer was just entering and that meant that they had plenty of time before winter arrived and to be honest, Ezekiel was not too worried about winter due to the fact that Galder’s Tower would protect them from the elements.

After eating lunch, Simon offered to clean the bento boxes, but Ezekiel declined, showing the reason to their newly hired untrained male nanny. He cast the Prestidigitation spell on the boxes, making them sparkly clean and as usual, Simon’s mouth opened in amazement.

Simon started driving the cart, and Ezekiel saw that his two brothers were a little sleepy. He then almost hit his head. He should have enforced nap time for Robert and Luke during afternoons since, based on the very little knowledge about child care that he learned, sleeping would allow little children to grow healthier.

So he pushed the table and chairs to the side and retrieved the sleeping bags he had purchased before and asked his two brothers to take a nap. Just like typical children, they resisted at first, but the slow moving of the cart and the gentle lullaby of the breeze flowing around them put the kids to sleep soon after.

Ezekiel didn’t take a nap, though, and continued creating the lesson plan that he would use to teach the kids to read and write. He also planned to let Simon join them because he was supposed to be their guardian and it would be more believable if the man could read and write.

After a couple of hours, he stopped writing since his brothers woke up. Robert and Luke said that they were hungry, so Ezekiel gave them some of the breakfast bento that he cooked since they could also work as snacks. He also gave some food to Simon, and since the cart was moving slowly enough, it wasn’t difficult for them to eat while the cart was moving.

Robert and Luke soon began playing after eating their snack and drinking some cold water that he spelled to taste like chocolate milk. They were still enamored with their toy ship that was awakened by the Tiny Servant spell, but Ezekiel had to reprimand Simon since he kept looking back to watch the toy ship moving around on the table. Simon blushed when he was scolded by Ezekiel and concentrated on driving the cart.

Soon, the surrounding area turned golden by the setting sun and Ezekiel had to admit that twilight was the most magical hour in a day. The beauty of the trees and the mountains in the distance was magnified by the golden color and the cooling breeze soothe him.

Ezekiel then asked Simon to look for a clearing where he could conjure their magic house. Since Simon was still familiar with the area, he found a good location which was within a copse of trees, and after they stopped, he cast a three-story Galder’s Tower and a one-story one that would function as Prince Charming’s stable.

Robert and Luke rushed to the three-story tower, and Ezekiel knew that his brothers would play in the water with their toy ship based on Merry from the One Piece manga while taking their bath. In the meantime, Ezekiel followed Simon to Prince Charming’s stable so he could give their donkey his ration then he left Simon cleaning Prince Charming while the donkey was eating.

Ezekiel joined his brothers in the bath but he left them soon since they still wanted to play in the water. He wanted to prepare the food they would eat that night which was simply retrieving the bento boxes meal from his 4th tab space.

After that, he went outside and cast the spells that would protect them and he also noticed Yuki Onna watching the surrounding area in the nearby branch.

Soon, Robert, Luke, and Simon went downstairs from the washroom and joined Ezekiel on the first floor, which was the dining room and they all happily started eating their dinner and as usual, ever since Simon joined them, they all ate a lot of food, Simon especially but Ezekiel didn’t begrudge the man since he felt pity towards him. He knew that this was the first time in his life that Simon could eat his fill. Ezekiel was even impressed a little that the man grew to his size even though he was hungry most of the time.

Ezekiel did like that Simon kept praising his food, saying that the food of wizards was the best in the world, even though the man was not a valid judge due to the limited cuisine that their pretend guardian had experienced.

After dinner and cleaning the used bento boxes, he began following the lesson plan that he created, and he started from the beginning since he wanted Simon to learn as well. He provided the man his own mini board, just like Robert and Luke, so he could start writing as well.

Ezekiel also made sure that the lesson was simple enough to understand by young children but he did increase the length of the lesson to two hours since he felt that one hour wasn’t enough.
