TBE Chapter 79

Ezekiel pondered over his plans of intimidating Simon to join his family while they traveled. Simon would act as the adult in the family and would look like their protector as well and that would allow Ezekiel to act on some of his plans that he held off from doing because of how the three siblings looked.

He knew that he would need to spend a lot of coins in the next few days since when he briefly checked, Ezekiel saw that his Wizard profession leveled up from 65 percent till he reached level 4 to 15 percent till he reached level 5. He excitedly thought of the new spells available for purchase but each of the level 4 spells would cost him 1 gold coin each. He would check his system later during his downtime.

Ezekiel did earn a lot of gold coins from the bandits and the dead family but he knew that there were never enough coins. With Simon joining them, he might even get away from selling more valuable items.

“Who killed the bandits?” Simon asked again.

“I’m the one who killed the bandits,” Ezekiel immediately swapped the Summon Shadowspawn spell from the 3rd level spell slot with the Fireball spell and cast it towards the trees.

The explosion caused by the Fireball spell put extreme fear in Simon and the boy who looked like a man crouched down crying, asking for forgiveness for joining the bandit gang.

Ezekiel then cast the Fly spell and started floating above Simon.

“My name is Ezekiel and I’m a wizard. My brothers and I were traveling the road and saw this displeasing sight so I decided to destroy the bandit gang. Unfortunately, the bandits already killed the family they captured when I arrived here.”

Simon looked up at Ezekiel in fear and for a moment, he thought that the serf-turned-bandit would start worshipping him.

“Are you going to kill me?” Simon asked while crying.

“No, Simon.” Ezekiel then flew back down.

“Sit back up and we’ll talk.”

Simon then sat up from the crouching pose that he was doing and waited for Ezekiel to continue.

“As you’ve seen, I’m a very powerful wizard who has deep and mysterious magic at my command. I can kill you anytime I want and I can even put a curse on you so that your life will be snuffed out the moment you open your mouth to share any information about me. You mentioned that you’re a runaway serf who doesn’t have any family anymore and since you joined a bandit gang and that bandit gang killed a noble family, that means that you don’t have anywhere to return to since if you do, the people there might kill you, am I right?” Ezekiel asked and Simon nodded.

“I propose that you join me and my brothers in our travels. As you can see, even if I’m a powerful wizard, I look like a child of 12 but my actual age is 14 years old. My brother’s ages are 7 and 5 but they look 2 years younger. We are currently traveling alone and that means that we need someone who looks older so we will not be questioned by the villages and towns that we will pass through. Even though you’re only 17, you look like you’re in your mid-twenties, no offense, and that will allow me to present you as someone who’s looking after us. You have no choice in this but don’t despair since I’ll pay you for your time in serving us, How much does a regular worker receive in the town where you're from?”

“I’m not sure. When I was a serf, I never received any coins, just food but I did hear that workers in town received around 10 coppers a day!” Simon said while he whispered the 10 copper coins at the last of his sentence as if he couldn’t believe the amount that people were receiving for doing ordinary work.

“I will give you 1 silver coin per seven days in exchange, I expect your obedience and your loyalty,” Ezekiel said.

He saw that Simon looked elated at first and then worried so Ezekiel asked what he was worried about.

“I don’t know how to act as someone older than you,” Simon mumbled.

“You don’t need to worry since I’ll teach you everything you need to know to function as either our uncle or older brother. We will also bypass your town to prevent any issues. Also, call me Kel,” Ezekiel said.

Simon then looked around and became particularly sad when he saw the dead family of the girl whom he called Ms. Anna.

“Are we going to do something about the bodies here?” Simon asked.

“No, let the forest handle everything here,” Ezekiel said.

“Are we not going to go to the bandit’s hideout?” Simon asked and Ezekiel just shook his head.

He knew that sooner or later, the remains here would be discovered by the people from that Erathon town that Simon had mentioned and it would be best if he didn’t touch anything else related to the bandits and let the townsfolks discover everything that was left here.

Ezekiel cast the spell Fly again then started flying where his brothers were staying inside the Glader’s Towers that he created but he made sure to fly slowly so that Simon could follow him without any problem.

When he arrived at the Galder’s Towers location, Ezekiel checked the time and was surprised that it was only around 3 in the afternoon. Since it was early, he decided to start traveling, leaving this area as soon as possible.

Simon was gaping at the Galder’s Towers that suddenly appeared inside the forest.

“I’ve been here before and there were never any houses here!” Simon said.

“I conjured these houses so that my brothers would be protected while they waited for me to deal with the bandit gang,” Simon gasped and looked at Ezekiel in awe again.

Ezekiel asked Simon to wait outside for a bit and he entered the bedroom house.

“Brother! Is the bandit gang dead?” Robert asked while Luke looked on expectantly.

“Yes. I found one of their captives. He’s called Simon and he will act as our uncle so we will have an adult with us.”

Ezekiel purchased a few sets of clothes that looked the same as theirs that would fit Simon for a couple of silver coins then invited the man who would become their uncle inside the bedroom house. He introduced Robert and Luke to Simon.

“Simon, go upstairs and take a bath. You smell and look atrocious. Here are some new clothes for you to wear and they look like our clothes so you look like our uncle. You know what let me follow you so I can teach you what you need to do,” Ezekiel said and both he and Simon went up to the washroom.

Robert and Luke curiously followed them as well and Ezekiel just let them. In the washroom, he instructed Simon to scrub thoroughly under the shower using the loofah that he purchased for the man and the liquid soap that was usually stored in the cart and transferred to the washroom by Robert as one of his few chores. The man needed to scrub his body several times to remove all the dirt from him.

One funny moment was Robert pointing at Simon’s genitals exclaiming how gigantic they were and Ezekiel just gave his brothers a wry smile and told them that someday theirs would be just like that.

Luke then asked why theirs were small and Ezekiel had to explain that they were very young still and that they suffered from lack of food before causing their bodies to not match their age. He told them that he was hoping that with the plentiful and healthy food they were eating, their bodies would catch up to the correct size soon.

Since all of them were boys, no one was embarrassed aside from Simon, who was a little ashamed of the scars from whipping that he had all over his body. Ezekiel had to explain to his brothers where the scars came from and Robert and Luke looked sad for Simon.

Ezekiel cast the Healing Elixir spell and asked Simon to spread the liquid all over his scars. Since the scars from the whips were all over his body, he had to cast the Healing Elixir several times to cover every inch of Simon’s body but the effect of the elixir was truly miraculous since all of the scars faded. It actually made Simon cry when he saw in the washroom mirror his scars fading.

“I now looked like one of those pampered nobles!” Simon exclaimed.

Ezekiel gaped at the effect of using the Healing Elixir as lotion so he decided to do the same to his and his brothers’ bodies. They removed all their clothes with Ezekiel's command then they began spreading the elixir all over their bodies. Then they all took a shower to clean themselves to check the full effect of the healing elixir.

Soon, all of them had smooth bodies and Ezekiel was sure that the four of them could truly pass as a well-off or even noble family even though Simon had blonde hair while he and his brothers had dark hair. Before they put on their clothes, Ezekeil cleaned them using the Prestidigitation Spell which made Simon gaped at Ezekiel again but he knew that sooner or later the man would get used to his spell casting.
