We are in the midst of several major changes to the core engine and data-structure for the next release branch. We're making way for several new systems and features, including:
* converting from twine passages to a room-based system
* replacing slaves and enemies with pets and relationships
* replacing the fixed body and metabolism design with support for hybrids/furries, alien physiology, and body modification
There are also a number of dependent systems planned to launch off of these changes (tags/keywords, NPC mood, looting/treasure, story/quest/achievements, etc.), but as they are entirely new systems and do not break compatibility with save files, they are on hold until the save-structure again stabilizes for this development stage.
The upcoming branch will be for engine version numbers 0.273x~0.299x and will serve as the transitional period between the old interface/systems and the new-UI branch/CMS-managed design. We should have a stable beta of these changes with a small content update late this month.
