Alternate Reality Ch.3

This is the mid ending to book one in my Alternate Reality series! There are two versions of this portion of the book so you can pick which one you like the most.

You can find all previous chapters in the Collection section under “Alternate Reality”

Mid Ending A

You fall to a bowl of cereal below landing in a huge ocean of milk. You start panicking as you see the huge walls of the bowl. How will you get out? Suddenly Jack picks up the bowl and takes it to the table. You look up and all you see is Jack filling the sky above you. He picks up the huge spoon with giant boulders of cereal. You watch as they enter his mouth and disappear. You start swimming to get to the side of the bowl.

Just then the spoon splashes down behind you and rises out of the milk flipping you into the air and back into the milk as it heads back to Jack's mouth. You start swimming towards the back of the bowl when suddenly you see two of my huge fingers appear from the sky and grab a single cheerio. As I pick it up my long fingernails bump some cheerios knocking them into the milk. Like icebergs breaking off a glacier, the Cheerios splash down all around you making massive waves and making it hard for you to stay afloat. Meanwhile, Jack and I are discussing our plans for the day. He takes another bite of his cereal both of us unaware of the panic He’s causing you. Seconds later the spoon returns and scoops up a spoonful right in front of you. A giant cheerio falls from the spoon landing on you and pushing you under the milk. You struggle under the milk to find the surface, and when you do the spoon lands on top of you once again pushing you under. You eventually surface again only to see the spoon sweeping towards you and then scoop you up. You are on the top of a mountain of Cheerios as you are hoisted into the air and stop even with Jack's very huge and very hungry mouth.

You are held in front of Jack's mouth, forced to watch him chew his previous bite. You stand there waving, hoping you will get his attention but nothing. As his mouth opens you are hit with the heat from his breath. The spoon starts heading to his mouth and you close your eyes when suddenly he stops and the spoon retreats back to the bowl. Jack answers his phone for a brief conversation. While he’s talking you swim to the edge of the bowl away from all the cheerios. Jack finishes his conversation and you watch from the edge of the bowl as spoonful after spoonful Jack finishes his breakfast.

Then He picks up his bowl and tilts it towards his mouth. The milk pours in as he drinks. You swim like you’ve never swam before, getting closer and closer to his huge mouth. You notice the milk is almost gone and you just need to hold out a little longer. You are getting exhausted and almost to Jack's mouth his upper lip right above you when thankfully he finishes the milk. You slide down the side of the bowl to the bottom. Jack hands me the bowl and I take it over to the sink. I pour some soap into the bowl and I place it under the faucet to be cleaned. Meanwhile, you start running and jumping doing whatever you can to get my attention. All your movement works and I see you. Thinking you’re just a bug a reach for the handle to turn on the water when I look closer. My eyes widen as I realize you're a person. I scoop you up with my nail and dump you on the counter.

Mid ending B

You fall onto a piece of toast right in front of me. You scramble to your feet and immediately try to get my attention. However I’m not looking down and walk away from the counter, I’m talking to Jack and getting butter out of the refrigerator. I place the butter down behind you and open the silverware drawer. You realize what’s happening and start to run.

Unfortunately, the porous bread isn’t easy to traverse and you trip. Your leg gets stuck and you aren’t able to break free. You turn and see the huge knife with butter scrapping against the toasted bread. The knife slides over you and covers you in butter. You wipe the butter from your face to see the knife coming back. Again you are covered in butter. The knife comes back from the other direction, this time freeing you and plastering you on your back to the bread. You look up to see me looking down at you smiling. Then the knife glides over you once more covering your face in butter.

I take my plate of toast over to the table and sit down across from Jack. I pick up the piece of toast you are on. You watch in horror as my hungry mouth bites into the bread. You see my teeth tear apart the bread with ease. You attempt to free yourself but just like the dip last night, you are stuck. I hold the piece of toast at my mouth while I engage in conversation with Jack, occasionally stopping to take another bite of toast. Bite after bite you watch helplessly as I get closer to your portion of the bread. I lean in to take a bite right in front of you. My huge teeth bite into the bread inches from your feet. Suddenly the portion of bread you are stuck gives way and you fall splashing into my coffee below. To me, the crumbs that fall into my coffee are so small that I don’t even notice and just continue eating.

Thankfully The coffee is hot but it isn’t scolding. You look up just in time to see me look down at you and pick up the mug. You immediately start swimming to the back of the mug to avoid being sipped up. I take a sip of coffee but it’s a little too bitter so I take some cream and pour it into my cup. The cream pushes you under the surface. You desperately try to swim to the top making it just in time to see my spoon enter the mug. I start to stir my coffee. Meanwhile, you are trying to stay afloat as my stirring has created a small whirlpool. To you, however, it’s a huge whirlpool your entire world is spinning so fast you can’t focus. Finally, I take my spoon out and give it a few taps on the edge of the mug. Still spinning in the mug the taps on the mug are ear-splitting to you for a second you can’t hear or see anything.

You regain focus just in time to see me looking down into the mug. Only this time I’m not looking as if I’m going to take a drink, I’m looking as if I see something. And I do. I see you floating in my coffee. I stick my huge finger in and scoop you out. I hold you up to my face thinking you are some sort of bug, then I notice you are a person! I gently walk you to the counter and wipe you off on the surface.
