They already seem sooo close and everyone settles into their roles. I just need to figure out what those roles are 😃😃.

I'm trying to do nct each week but don't have a schedule as I fit it around work. When I have more time I watch more and longer things and the reverse if I'm short on time.

It's so peaceful and fun, and the boys get to be as chaotic or chill as they want to be. Btw all the background music in the show are NCT Dream songs! Specifically, their intro is "Dear Dream" which was a send off song to Mark when he left the unit back in 2018, but since he's back in 2021, they use it kinda sentimentally. NCT are pretty average-tall all around, a lot of people don't realize that sometimes and especially with Haechan lol he's deceptively tall. Yes, 7illing In The Dream was filmed leading up to the release of "Hot Sauce"! Haechan is 4th eldest, Jisung is the youngest. When they said "you're the second oldest", they were talking to Renjun. The age order is: Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung. Age does not matter to most of NCT and especially not in Dream. The Dreamies grew up together and are too close in age that they pretty much established a while ago that the age stuff doesn't matter and if they do follow it, it's to be dramatic. Haechan won the rock-paper-scissors game that why he was allowed to pick the rooms, but in general he's just very outgoing with members and commanding so he naturally takes charge often. He's a natural host, he does this all the time lol Chenle (pronounced "chuhn-luh") and Renjun are Chinese and Mark is Canadian, so those 3 aren't born and raised Koreans, they sometimes struggle with the language and culture, less now than before of course. They don't go through the bags all the time, but NCT have done it before. 127 did it as well and that's actually one of the things Mark mentioned with the rice paddle, because when 127 went through Mark's bag they found a rice paddle from Jisung in there. Most members of NCT are actually known as pretty good cooks, but Mark is definitely one with a reputation. He's really not that bad, but he just has a history lol Jeno and Jisung also aren't horrible, they just don't do it often. Haechan and Jaemin are definitely the best cooks in Dream though. Your observations were pretty spot on so far, and you're definitely gonna learn more as you watch. Ideally, I'd wish you do both the Uncuts and 7illing In The Dream episodes, but I understand if you can't. Thank you for this reaction and I can't wait for the next episode! Is there a schedule for NCT releases at all?

You were asking at the start why Haechan got to pick where everyone sleeps, it’s because they played rock paper scissor to see who would make the decision and he won, it’s a thing that the dreamies decide everything with rock paper scissor, which you will see more of if you watch the rest of this series.

2021-08-09 19:53:51 +0000 UTCthere's one episode in particular where the members themselves give a ton of their own insight about one another that will help you learn more about them on a deeper level, so i really hope you watch through this! this episode is fun and introductory, but it definitely picks up and gets more fun as it goes on <3 and you were right when you pronounced Chenle's name like "Chun-luh"! For reference, the Dreamies often compare Jeno to a dog (a samoyed in particular) which is why they immediately stuck him in the dog house xD

I'm looking forward to more :) your first impressions are quite spot-on. Haechan is really just a natural MC, he kind of naturally steers people even though he's not the leader (but one could argue he's sort of the soul of Dream / the "emotional" leader of the group). I think they're just used to kinda following him when it comes to games & activities because he likes that kinda stuff :D but they mess with him and make fun of him too (unlike in 127, where he's the maknae and terrorises everyone, pretty much). Jaemin is... a weird one tbh hahaha, he does have a younger member energy to him, he's wild and unpredictable, but he also dotes a LOT, he loves taking care of others (esp. Chenle and Jisung, who are younger). but it takes a longer time to... get him, I think, because he's kinda super chaotic and insanely funny but also sits quietly in the corner/does his thing when he wants to preserve energy. Four of them are actually the same age (Haechan, Renjun, Jeno and Jaemin are all born in 2000), so the actual age plays less into it, i think. dont worry about it much, they will all have time to shine in this series!

I want to see more of renjun and heechn bickering. 🤣 He's definitely an MC and made opening bags an entertaining show. I'm.still getting my head round the group crossovers and how the dynamic would be. Mark seems the same in dream and superM. I haven't seen personality content for 127 so I'm not sure yet

2021-08-08 01:20:20 +0000 UTCI’m actually surprised you’d think Jaemin was the youngest haha… I kind of see him as a mom figure in the group, he likes to cook for the members in the dorm and babies Jisung a lot :3 he even nags the fans often to take care of ourselves haha… he’s pretty quiet but imo he’s the weirdest out of the dreamies, he occasionally has these strange outbursts lol… And I agree renjun is very particular haha… k-fans jokingly call him princess lol He has this soft/pure image but he also has a bit of a short temper (95% of the time Lee Haechan is the cause 😅) But he’s also a very thoughtful and emotionally attuned guy :) For Haechan, in general, whenever the dreamies have their own content, he tends to “run the show” because he has the natural MC skills. He’s also the only extrovert in dream, so that might explain why he’s so loud ^^;; What’s interesting is Haechan’s dynamic with the dreamies vs 127 (where he’s the youngest) is very different. He’s the mood maker in both teams, but he definitely knows how to play the maknae role very well in 127, doing aegyo, respecting his hyungs (most of the time lol), and being babied by the hyungs, which is a side of him you don’t see with the dreamies. Definitely loud and chaotic in both teams though haha

2021-08-08 00:04:46 +0000 UTCNow that Mark's back, I believe he's now the official leader of Dream again (I read it somewhere but I can't remember where), and whenever him and Haechan have 127 activities that collide with dream, the position default's back to Jeno. As for the age roles, the hyung line in dream is Mark (1999), Renjun, Jeno, and Haechan, while the maknae line is Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung --- Renjun, Jeno, Haechan and Jaemin are all born in 2000 so they only call Mark hyung, while Chenle (2001) and Jisung (2002) decided to drop the formalities with each other early on so they call everyone else hyung, but not each other. But since they all grew up together, most of the time dream has a tendency to drop the formalities with one another unless it's time to work; the rest of the time, their lives are an organized chaos (sometimes only chaos) that is run by rock paper scissors 😂😂 and you'll see this a lot more as the series goes on!

2021-08-07 23:57:35 +0000 UTCMark isn’t officially leader but the dreamies and the Korean fans call him “드림대장” which means “head of dream” so he’s pretty much the leader. He’s the one that counts off the group to do their introductions and stuff. While Mark graduated, Jeno took that leader role on temporarily so fans called him “드림주장” (Dream Captain). I find it interesting though since Jeno is 3rd oldest since he was born after Renjun, but I can see why he was chosen because Jeno has good leadership qualities too. He’s super mature and gives a very stable vibe

2021-08-07 23:08:29 +0000 UTCHaechan is the oldest of four siblings and you can definitely see him exuding big brother energy here. 😂😂😂 I’m unsure if NCT Dream ever had an official leader, but if they did it would’ve been Mark- at least until he “graduated.” Haechan seems like he likes to be in charge, but I agree that having Haechan lead would be an absolute disaster. I’m curious to know from older Dreamies what happened when Mark left in terms of leadership. It’s funny you mention Jaemin seeming like the youngest if you didn’t know better. I feel like I remember Jisung said something similar during the maknae interview on Haechan and Taeil’s show. Haechan totally agreed. I think they said he was sensitive and sulked a lot. I’m interested in you watching more if you feel like it. Also not related to Dream, but I have to make a plug for you to watch this. Lots of people have probably told you already that SHINee did a small reality show before their 6th album. It’s one of those going to a fancy house and spending time together shows that you like. The clips of Taemin playing video games while the other three try to deal with a smoke alarm is from that.
