It's an interesting question honestly. The fact that people at a certain point of power vanish could mean that they are moving up to the next level, similar to how people in the starhaven realm can move up at tier 7 but it could also be that at that tier their inner worlds are "finished" and they merge with them while separating from the "main world" creating essentially another alternative and separate "main world". In that case while the cultivation world might not be the original world it would still be the Main World since there wouldn't be any worlds above it. The fact that the world spirit called it the main world does indicate that the first is likely not the case since if anyone we have met would know the answer to that question it would be him.

But given cultivation here seems to take hundreds of years, it's also not necessarily get him a more powerful friend. Especially given our boy's current cultivation speed.
