When I designed Hank for the first time back in early 2023 (see them here) my only goal was to make the most generic cartoon wolf and rabbit designs and put them in the most generic classic cartoon plot ever!
Road Runner (and sometimes Bugs Bunny) x Wile E Coyote, Ralph Wolf x Sam SheepDog, Tom x Jerry and many more. Heck, most of the cartoons back then especially Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes are just characters wanting something and then they start chasing. I love that formular, simple and effectives.
One of the many inspirations is none other than Ну, погоди!, a Soviet and Russian series of animated short films produced by Soyuzmultfilm. The idea is the same, the wolf wants to eat the rabbit and then he got pranked back and that's all (for some reason the wolf always ended up in his undies all the time XD).

So, besides making an animation that feels like an old timey cartoon, I want to pay a tribute to Ну, погоди! in this short as well.

You can see Hank turn into a wolf from Ну, погоди! in the last second of the cut XD
There are 2 problem to be solved:
#1: Should Hank's color be the same or changed entirely?

Since this is an obvious tribute, I chose to go with the classic Ну, погоди! with gray fur and pink shirt. The overall shape is still Hank (thick neck, pointy cheeks fur and yellow eyes) so we still recognized Hank and not the wolf from the cartoon.
#2: What about the color transition

At first I was gonna do some fancy transition like, the color slowly turns gray and such but turns out you only need one frame and just SWAP color like that XD
This technique also used in Disney's Encanto when Camilo shape shifted into someone else:

One frame of model changes and voila! No morph, no transition at all!

A little bit long for this post lol but I hope you enjoy reading!
See you in the next update!
