Mango the Dragon, or How the Story of the Himbo Dragon Began!!! 🐉🦪

Alas, Mango the Dragon story idea and lore are done!

I've been developing the project since 2022. At first it's just a silly daily life comic about him being the only dragon in the world. You can read them all here.

But then I feel like I'm back to draw Wuffle Comics all over again. The idea that he's the only dragon in the world makes me want to explore more on how and why. Where's he come from, why is he the only survival in this world, will he hunt, chase or capture? Etc. So I stopped drawing the 4 panel comics and came up with the idea.

Fast forward to 2025, it's done <3

I won't tell you everything but below are some ideas that I wanted to share.

One Stormy Night

On a chaotic night, Papa Yogurt, a giant sea otter sailor and his son Smoothie cling to their small boat amidst a ferocious storm. Towering waves crash against the hull, and howling winds whip the sea into a frenzy, lightning splitting the black-red sky. It's an eclipse.

Papa Yogurt fights to keep them alive in the middle of the storm, his heart heavy with the weight of his past. As hope fades, a strange calm emerges—a pocket of stillness in the roiling sea, illuminated by a soft, radiant glow.

At the center floats an unconscious young dragon boy from another world.

The sea around him lies flat, undisturbed, as if bowing to his presence. The wind softens to a gentle breeze, carrying a refreshing warmth that soothes Papa Yogurt’s weary soul. The storm’s thunder quiets, and the waves part, creating a serene path toward the glowing figure.

Entranced, Papa Yogurt steers closer, muttering “มังกร” (dragon in Thai, pronounced Mangorn) in awe of the creature’s otherworldly aura. Smoothie, peeking over his shoulder, mishears it as “Mango,” giving the boy a new name.

Papa Yogurt hauls Mango aboard, his naked form light as a newborn.

As Mango rests on the boat, the storm fully relents, the sky clearing to reveal stars, and a guiding light—seemingly from the shard—points toward a distant shore.

This beacon leads them to Gelato Island, a quirky, underdeveloped haven ruled by the scheming Mayor Komodo.

Seeking refuge from his past, Papa Yogurt vows to raise Mango and Smoothie in safety.

The mysterious calm that enveloped Mango at sea lingers in Papa Yogurt’s mind, hinting at the boy’s cosmic origins. Thus begins their new life on Gelato Island, where Mango’s hidden dragon heritage will soon stir new challenges!

A Himbo Dragon’s Journey

Mango grows into a lovable himbo dragon—kind-hearted, naive, and brimming with charm.

As he quests to uncover his cosmic roots, Mango faces dangers, forges friendships with allies like cryptid-obsessed Miss Moi, Maddy The Babayaga of the island -

and clashes with foes like the paparazzi and the corrupt Mayor!

Through it all, his found family—Papa Yogurt, Smoothie, and the islanders—helps him embrace his identity as Mango the Dragon of Gelato Island!

And that's all I can tell you WAHAHA XD There are TONS of lore behind this that I won't tell until I draw a comic about it and revealing bit by bit.

But lemme tell you it's gonna be EPIC!!!
