Sentinel was voiced by the late Leonard Nemoy who played Spock in Star Trek. Nimoy was also the voice of Galvatron (Megatron remade through Unicron) in the original Transformers movie. Also, the reason Optimus was brutal with killing Shockwave is that in the books set before the movie, Shockwave killed Jolt (the Autobot from the second movie that fused Optimus and Jetfire), Elita-1 (one of the motorcycles from the second movie and Optimus' love interest), and the former N.E.S.T. director
