building my studio - 8th december

bit late! I've been using it so much recently that i completely forgot the outside world existed!

here are some pictures of me doing the final setting up of the studio, with help from my friend Alfie who is behind the camera :-)

Updates on songs I've been working on

so i shared that song She's Not Xonvinced recently which is cool, and I recorded a full version of the song (minus vocals, i cant be arsed rn.) It's not going to be the final version, definately not, but its way more fleshed out than that voice memo i shared the other day.

In the last 5 days, along with starting that song, I also started two more! I'm kind of working on them all at once, switching between them...

I have a friend who is currently working on making a deluxe version of an album he released a couple months ago. I'm deliberately being vague because I'm not sure if what he's doing is meant to be a secret! But anyway, his plan is to get a different artist to cover each song on the album, and because he knows how much I love his stuff, he's asked me to do a song on there!

So I've been recording a cover of one of these songs, and as of right now (3:52pm on 13th December 2024) I'm about to go record the vocals for it after I finish this post. I'll make sure to send it to u guys sometime soon!!! I'm really proud of it. I asked him what kind of vibe he wanted for the cover and he said "just do whatever you want, imagine it's your own song"... let me tell you, I really did do whatever I wanted!

The second is a song called Phates Kollide, I'm planning for it to be on my next release. A big inspiration for this song is 'Sleepyhead' by Passion Pit. I fucking love Passion Pit. They're a big inspo for the whole release in general i think.

For Phates Kollide, I've got all the lyrics and the music in my head, but at the moment I'm still writing out the parts on the synthesizers and sequencing them. That's usually the longest part. It's basically programming instructions for the synths/samplers/drum machines, its like saying "when you get to this point in the song play this chord for this long" etc etc but like x100. The actual recording is way easier since i just record it all in one go.
