Phates Kollide (the highest I've ever sung)

Working on the vocals for a song right now, and they are extremely high pitched (for me). What you're hearing right now is my best attempt at singing the verses without any extra processing, but I think for this one I'm going to have to whip out some autotune. It's not like I have some moral thing against auto tune, I've just never had to use it cos stylistically I like my vocals to be more natural (also, I can actually sing in my normal range). But for this song, I know the vocals have to be in a super high range like this and I think a bit synthetic-ness in the vocals would fit the song. It's all about the artistic vision!

Have a listen to Sleepyhead by Passion Pit, that's the exact vocal sound I'm after for this song. I'm not sure how they got that vocal sound, whether it's the guy singing that high or they just edited it or what... I thought I could recreate it with my own voice but I need to push further

I don't want to spoil the whole thing now, do I?!

So my plan for the rest of today is to get those vocal tracks out, autotune them, and then place them back in where they were.

That means I literally have to take the tracks out - I'm recording all this stuff on a standalone digital recorder, so I need to export those separate tracks as files and then hook up my computer to the recorder and transfer the files (which takes a while since its USB interface is literally 20 years old).

THEN i load the files into my DAW on my computer and edit them etc, and do the whole process in reverse, slotting them perfectly where the old untuned tracks were.

I could just rerecord the vocals straight into my computer but my voice is kinda fucked from singing that high so maybe I'll use the old tracks
