Card declines
Added 2018-08-02 18:54:20 +0000 UTCHey, Patreon had an error this month since they've restructured some bank things that resulted in some cards being declined. If you find your payment has not gone through you can just go update your payment info, or in some cases call your bank to tell them the charge is not fraud. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Yeah I got an "international charge has been declined, was this you? Reply YES or NO" text from my credit card. So I guess Patreon moved their payment processing center out of the US? Patreon really boffed this one by not warning us about it first.

I was able to accept the charge via phone app and re-process but I called [the bank] and asked, and they couldn't explain other than "it was flagged because something was unusual about this transaction." We concluded that it had something to do with the amount change -- I added a few artists this month -- but that's not really unusual in and of itself. Anyway, thanks for the heads-up. I gave you some hearts. ... For that and the sexy elf porn. I mean, that speaks for itself, right? :) [edited to clarify my pronoun use]

2018-08-02 22:47:56 +0000 UTCAs I understand it they've moved their banking to the UK and some of their card processing partners can't run those cards, or some people's cards do not authorize those transactions.
