Laurel had a very happy childhood and was pretty rambunctious, but around her preteens she really begins to realize how poorly she fits into either human or harpy society. Despite Clara and Kree's unwavering support, Laurel begins to develop destructive habits and even leaves home unexpectedly to try to find her place in the world. Through many mistakes she finds happiness in southern art communities where she begins nude modeling and exploring her sexuality. Eventually, she seeks out her parents again.
