I haven't got enough subscribers for a payout yet and I'd like to see how that goes, what their fees actually are etc., so if a couple of you wanted to switch over you'd be helping me test it out.
Whether you pledge here or on the other page you'll get the exact same content, so don't worry about missing out.
I never made a page on there before, because Subscribestar got its big break by going around twitter and scooping up all the alt-right people Patreon banned, super scummy stuff--but Patreon also allows monsters like Andy Ngo on here to this day, and is owned by VC interests including the Kushners SO like I've said elsewhere, the moral ground is maybe a couple inches higher, if that. None of these places are run by good people; they're all exploitative, compromised and disgusting.
So as far as I'm concerned, it does make me feel a little safer to have my income spread across a few platforms, and this is a platform that explicitly allows 'adult content', though that too could change on a whim. Pragmatically, I'll say that Patreon has possibly the most infuriatingly stupid and useless UI I've ever had to deal with, so the Substar one is amazing in comparison so far (for example, right now, I can't upload a picture to this post! The upload button just doesn't respond. Very cool.)

2021-11-26 07:42:33 +0000 UTCHmmm… I didn’t know anything about Andy Ngo and when I went searching for info, I ran across Post Millennial.com where their articles about far- and near- left and right were so confusing, I gave up and came back to here. And the rest is that I don’t quite understand why or what your subscribestar page (not ‘thread’ as I wrote) is for. Is it protest? Submission? Temptation? Test? Addition/… Thanks for paying attention to me :-)

2021-11-19 13:54:25 +0000 UTCAfter reading some of the articles in the the PM I'm not certain what they're about-what their stand is. Most of the articles I read are poorly written. I'm not certain I understand why or what you are doing with your 'new' thread. I joined Patreon because I liked your art and I am at turns amused and entertained by the 'story'. Those are the reasons I support you. Now I don't quite know what you want me to understand about you and your work.

I prefer patreon only because I can use paypal, where as substar is a payment direct from my credit card. I know Patreon is continuing to crack down, and I'll move with artists if I have to, but I'm not in a big hurry to do so.
