End of Adventure Game Jam

What a bumpy ride! Thank you to the people who organized AdvJam and all who contributed. AdvJam21 is now officially over and I’m still sorting my thoughts about the experience. I didn’t get to write more about it beforehand, but I will write more about these past two weeks. Sort of like a mini post mortem.

I’m still sleep deprived. As I’m used to a strong routine, it’s always difficult if I have to break it. I should probably sleep, but can’t anymore. Don’t worry, this will fix itself over the weekend.

Now you’re probably eager to check out what I created.
Disclaimer: It’s rough and I’m not talking about the rough placeholder art, but everything. I actually put together this build within the last two days of the jam, because I really wanted to show something. The translation was done on the fly, as I wrote the script in German.

Rest assured for everything that’s still wonky or missing, I have come out of the jam with a lot of great ideas and things I want to try.

To me the best part of the jam probably was getting to know Ink to write most of my game script in. Game writing has never been more fun to me and I ended up writing a lot of scenes for the full game, rather than focussing solely on the jam.
I also wrote a simple integration into my own adventure engine inside of Unity.

TL;DR

Here is the very first prototype of Exodus terram for you (Updated: May 24th). Needless to say it will be continued.

Oh and please don't forget to vote for it on the AdvJam site.

If there are any problems, like you can’t play the game at all for some reason, please let me know. Otherwise use your imagination to get past the roughness (as the protagonist would).

Thank you so much for being on this journey with me and enjoy.
