What's coming next?

First of all, thank you very much for the feedback, the messages of support, and the ideas shared here and there.

Now that the ALPHA version is out, I’m focusing on pushing toward a FINAL build — or at least a solid BETA — aimed at fixing many of the bugs that appeared with the character switch system. Very little new content will be added at this stage, as I want to move quickly to version 1.07 and properly close Chapter 1, which was always meant to be an extended introduction (meeting the characters and exploring two city districts).

I often get questions in DMs about what’s coming in Chapter 2 — SPOILER ALERT — this has been planned for a long time, even if it wasn’t always clear: Tiffa and Jessy are going out together for a night at the Silver Plate! Now that Tiffa’s phone is finally repaired, she’ll be able to get ready and meet her friend in this district where Asgarians come to party, relax, and enjoy the attractions.

I’ve also been working on the writing for this part for quite a while, and I’m really excited to see how it will turn out once I fully commit to it. Looking back at Under Haven — and especially Brick Market — I can see just how much I experimented, tried things, and sometimes went a bit wild with ideas, for better or worse. That phase was necessary, and it helped shape what the game is becoming.

In any case, the introduction of a male character was always planned. Claude — Tiffa’s boyfriend — may have seemed like the obvious choice, since he “has it all,” but it would not have been fun to my opinion. That doesn’t mean he won’t appear, though. For those keeping an eye on the tv news: the TROOPERS are coming back sooner than you might expect.
