Dust (2023)

Curtis, Luke, and Matt were all hanging out at Matt's house, enjoying a TV show in the living room when suddenly, a blinding bright light engulfed the entire house, and the boys disappeared. Unbeknownst to anyone, their security system had malfunctioned, causing the current occupants to shrink down to a tiny size. Moreover, the security system had become completely inoperable.

The frightened boys huddled together, trying to comprehend what had just happened.
Just then, the sound of the front door opening echoed through the house as Matt's roommate Brad walked in, returning from his work shift.

Frantic and in desperation, Matt cried out, "Brad! Help us!" as the giant turned the corner into the living room, his socked footsteps creating small thuds on the floor, growing louder as he approached the shrunken boys. Unfortunately, Brad couldn't hear Matt's tiny voice amid the noise of the television. Terrified by Brad's enormous presence, Matt attempted to run towards the giant.

“Brad!!” Matt screamed for help, while his friends' cries pleaded for him to stay back.

However, Brad remained unaware and continued walking. Matt froze in terror as Brad's socked foot swung overhead with insurmountable speed. He swiftly turned and rushed back towards the safety of his friends, just as the foot slammed down beside him while the giant headed towards his favourite chair. Brad had nearly stepped on his tiny roommate, completely oblivious to the near catastrophe he had caused.

Tiny Matt screamed in terror as the socked foot landed beside him, knocking him off his feet. His heart raced, overwhelmed by the reality of almost being crushed under Brad's giant foot, and he succumbed to unconsciousness.

--

"Ah, I love this show," Brad boomed above as he sat down, oblivious to his actions. He briefly wondered why the TV was left on but assumed Matt had gone out with his friends.

Curtis and Luke huddled together, horrified as they believed they had witnessed Brad stepping on Matt. To their surprise, they found Matt lying unconscious on the ground, seemingly unharmed.

The boys trembled in terror as the giant bent down to remove his socks. “

No! Please don't!" they shouted, their tiny voices tinged with fear and desperation. "We're down here! Watch out!" they cried out, hoping against hope that the giant would somehow hear their pleas.

The giant made no indication he heard them, as he removed his socks, and tossed them carelessly towards the boys, the socks flying overhead and landing nearby, filling the air with the stench of a hard day's work.

Reacting to the urgency of the situation, Luke rushed to check on Matt, completely unaware of the giant's actions.

"Luke!" Curtis yelled behind him, trying to warn his friend. Luke stopped and turned.

"What do you want-" Luke began to speak but was abruptly interrupted by a massive thud that shook the ground. Turning on his back, he was confronted with an enormous, ridged, and pink-hued wall. It took him a moment to realize what it was—he was staring at Brad's heel. The realization that Brad's heel had nearly crushed him filled him with terror.

Looking back down towards Matt, Luke realized he was just meters away from facing the same fate, as Brad settled in to watch TV, crossing his ankles with another thud.

Fearfully, Luke crawled on the ground towards Matt.

Meanwhile, Curtis watched from the "safety" of one of the discarded socks, angry at Luke for recklessly venturing into danger. The pungent smell of the socks filled the air, but Curtis didn't care; he wasn't willing to risk his life like his friends had done.

"Luke! Get back here!" Curtis yelled angrily.

Gazing up at the colossal, oblivious giant, Curtis took a breath, accepting the gravity of the situation, and continued more calmly, "Is he okay?"

He received no response, but he wanted both of them to move out of harm's way before the giant mistook them for bugs due to their exposed position.

However, the giant remained entirely unaware of the unfolding drama below him, his mind solely focused on the relaxation of his evening.
