Walden and Adam's friendship kicked off during their early days in elementary school – a time when simple connections could lay the foundation for lifelong bonds. From those humble beginnings, their camaraderie flourished into an unbreakable link that stood as a testament to their remarkable connection. More than mere friends, they had grown into something akin to brothers, unwaveringly devoted to each other's well-being and happiness.
Flash forward to their late twenties, the two were close, but their lives had gotten busy as they entered the next stages of their lives. Despite these twists and turns, their friendship remained resilient, even though the demands of their burgeoning careers had chipped away at the time they could spend together.
Yet, amidst the hustle and bustle, a glimmer of hope emerged in the form of a single day – a Saturday set aside solely for their companionship. The girlfriends were off preparing for an upcoming camping escapade, leaving Walden and Adam with a golden opportunity to just hang out. Sporting his jeans and a comfortable white t-shirt, Walden welcomed Adam with his signature grin at the entrance. He had decided to forgo socks, adding an extra layer of ease to the occasion.
As they settled in, drinks and snacks in tow, they relished in the shared stories and a sense of belonging that only genuine friendship could provide. Conversations flowed effortlessly, weaving between nostalgia and the latest happenings until they reached a consensus: video games were in order. With that, they delved into the virtual realm, allowing themselves to be swept away on a digital adventure.
“Hey, hold on a sec,” Walden interjected, springing to his feet and momentarily vanishing from the room, leaving Adam in suspense.
“Wait up!” His voice echoed from the hallway. He reappeared in the living room. “Almost forgot the best part! Our headsets—...Adam?”
In an instant, the room felt oddly vacant. Adam had vanished without a trace. Walden approached the couch, half expecting Adam to be playing a prank behind it. But, to his surprise, there was no sign of his friend anywhere.
Taking a seat, confusion gripped Walden, though not a trace of worry. He fired up the Playstation, expecting Adam's return.

Adam found himself at a loss for an explanation. One moment, he heard Walden fetching headsets for their gaming session, and the next, he was sprawled on the ground.
"Adam?" A voice called out into the void.
"Walden?" Adam's voice seemed to dissolve in the air. He was utterly perplexed by what was unfolding.
Abruptly, a sizeable object descended from the sky, landing with a substantial thud before him. A faint scent lingered in the air as Adam inspected the enigmatic object. It resembled a massive foot, a bizarre sight that defied belief.
"W-Walden...?" Adam started, gradually realizing the gravity of the situation. He had somehow shrunk, and the foot before him belonged to Walden. Gazing upward, he craned his neck, attempting to catch a glimpse of Walden's face from this new, unfamiliar perspective, yet it remained just beyond his field of view.
