Main reason I decided this would be a good movie for you to watch was it was the best case scenario for this kind of situation. My biggest fear would be abuse, But thank God Sam/Ben wasn't abused. Also in the book, that goes into a bit more detail with both Beth and Vincent-he did get counselling. And wished they showed that in the movie. And my heart also went out to Vincent, who I felt got leftover scraps of love from the parents-sadly edit: And agreed that the mom was a bit much-Beth-at times with Pat. Pat was doing nothing wrong, in general. A lot of that felt like projection/feeling guilty to me
