2024-01-06 17:08:16 +0000 UTCYeah, I enjoyed Obi Wan although there was a little 'The Last Jedi' Lukification of Obi where he became a weakened, bitter old man to an extent. I guess it created room for some kind of redemptive character arc though, but like Luke it was so out of character from the optimistic, wise, powerful jedi we knew. Often with Disney they have to make male character look weak or stupid to elevate the female ones like Rey humiliating Han Solo knowing how to fix his ship where he couldn't. In Obi Wan it wasn't bad at all. It did become the Leia show a bit with her bossing him about occasionally but she's so cute and Leia does become a strong willed, occasionally bossy woman lol so it's in character. The most woke bit IMO was Beru bossing Owen around and taking command during the Reva conflict. It's the man's job to protect the family and as they're both farmers there's no reason that he wouldn't be better suited.

He could have done it purely on the Jedi side and not the dark. There are endless possibilities and theories out there but we got the story we got. π

2024-01-01 22:03:49 +0000 UTCAnother thought, as Anakin was conceived by the force as part of the prophecy of the one who would bring balance to the force, and Luke ended up being the chosen one, then perhaps Anakin turning to the dark side was predestined as the will of the force and thus unavoidable if the chosen one Luke SkyPotter was to come along.

The fact that he refused the council and wasnβt willing to conform to their wishes was a threat to palpatine and his plans. Qui Gon would have sensed the sith way before the Jedi councilβ¦Just my opinion tho Iβm sure there are many different theories.

2024-01-01 21:43:47 +0000 UTCIt depends, I mean Obi was a wise and powerful Jedi, even at that point. Even Qui Gon said "you're a wiser man that I" although he could've just been being nice. After all Obi Wan warned Qui Gon of the danger of training Anakin, so he sensed/saw problems and went out of his way to emphasise the light side way to Anakin as a result no doubt. Also Palpatine is extremely powerful and manipulative and would've found a way to corrupt Anakin regardless IMO as Anakin was too innately passionate and emotional.

2024-01-01 09:56:23 +0000 UTCClone Wars and Rebels are great. I'm not a huge animation guy normally as they're often made for kids. I'm definitely not an anime guy, I find it juvenile and nonsensical, but Star Wars Clone Wars and Rebels are good and offer a lot of Star Wars lore and history.

As such a powerful jedi, he would not 'disconnect from' or forget the force like he seemed to. The 'hero loses his powers' trope is tiresome, overused and silly IMO.

2024-01-01 04:41:47 +0000 UTCto me there are really great things about this series even though it is far from perfect...Obi wan being traumatized is not out of character for him because we dont know Obi wan 10 years after what happened and for almost 10 years after that. Obi lost everything and everyone he knew. I think you'd be a shell of your former self too just sayin. There were things I didnt like though like the leia chase scene and her and obi escaping with her in his coat...pretty much most of all of that plot plus reva's plot were trash but obi and anakin/darth vader development and scenes were great to me.

It's out of character for Obi Wan, almost as much as Luke was out of character in TLJ. Disney seems dead set on deconstructing iconic male heroes in prominent franchises. Little Leia is adorable though, the Grogu of the show.
