McNulty doing bad fake English accent, with his kind of OK American accent, starting from his real English accent, always gets me. Especially as it is with Lester Freamon getting England/Scotland/Britain all mixed up (Lester's actor has a house in London, and he's in a lot of British stuff too). Same kind of gag as when Lester called them all "draft-dodging peace-freaks" in the first season. Lester's actor first moved to Europe to get away from the Vietnam war draft.

2025-04-14 00:32:57 +0000 UTCI'm here for it! Weird audio and all! I've been really enjoying these! The show can be slow, but I feel it covers so much real stuff that it's important to watch. It's like medicine -- it might not taste good at times, but it's good for us. And I love how by this point, we can see so much of how drugs work in baltimore. From it arriving in the USA, all the way to how that affects someone like Bubbles. And everything in-between. It's the most comprehensive picture of drugs in America I've ever seen on TV. It hurts when you've lived it like I have, but it's beautiful to see all the pieces put together in a show. And it never forgets the human moments, or a little comedy to break up that pain. It's so impressive.
