January Plans

Hey everyone, I plan to launch my novel Reborn as a Demonic Tree on RoyalRoad sometime between the 7th and 10th of January. (Exciting!!!)

I used scribblehub as a place to beta test the novel, and you may have noticed Patreon is only around 2-3 chapters ahead. I naturally will not be able to build up the promised 15-chapter backlog in the next week, and I don't want to launch my new novel on RoyalRoad with only a 2-chapter backlog... so here's my solution. (It's not a great one).

On the day of the launch on RoyalRoad, I will mass-release 11 chapters. This is done to hit the 20k word requirement for rising stars. Patreon will be on chapter 26 by then... which is 15 chapters ahead.

So, in summary, from now on, this Patreon will be working off RoyalRoad's number of chapters rather than scribblehubs. So the five chapters in advance will be based on what chapter RoyalRoad is at.

Over the course of a week or two, the two platforms will become synced up, and by then, you won't notice a difference.

Basically, on the day of release on RoyalRoad, I will change it, so $5 Patrons will only have access up to chapter 16. Naturally, as daily chapters are released on RoyalRoad, the $5 will catch up to where we are now, but it will take around a week or two.

Therefore if you want to stay up to date with the tree novel here on Patreon, you may wish to consider upgrading to the $8.

$5 patrons will continue to be able to read the latest tree chapters up until the 7th. If you have any questions, feel free to leave them below. I know this is a kinda shit solution, but I want to keep the quality of the novel high and don't want to attempt to write two chapters a day.

(Please remember the two sites will become synced up quite quickly, so the regression in access is only temporary for $5 Patreons while RoyalRoad catches up.)

I appreciate your understanding and continued support... also HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Interesting, I've seen that happen a couple of times with stories I like. Kind of a shame but I understand that RR is probably concerned with spam stories.

I also hope it does well over there! :D

Scribblehub is fine to use as an author, the UI and stuff isn't amazing, but it's manageable. I use the site to test novels because of how the algorithm works. The daily trending is where a novel usually gets a lot of its exposure, and it luckily has no requirements for regular uploads. On RoyalRoad, a new novel lives or dies within its first month, so the launch of a new novel on RoyalRoad must be done correctly, and ideally with a large backlog preprepared.

I've got a question for you. As an author, what are your thoughts on scribblehub as a platform? Cause for me as a user, the site is extremely hard to navigate, and any promising stories I see are unreadable due to poor grammar and basic English writing. Also, happy new year, hope your books continue to grow (っ.❛ ᴗ ❛.)っ

Great news! Hopefully it will be received well on RR. Can't wait to see if more people will come to enjoy your stories.
