I read this all again this morning. This trial is the biggest nothing-burger for the prosecution and Ted is nowhere near a "disaster" on the stand as some writers claim. I think I would have answered in the same spirit had it been me and if Yocum had leaned on me in the same fashion I may have been just as snarky. And Ted was sparingly snarky. Carol is surprisingly so, as it turns out. I don't know what the judge was thinking but I do think he wasn't anywhere near as professional as he should have been. A person truly looking at the evidence (or here, therein the lack of) would have found Ted not guilty UNLESS of course there was pressure from other law enforcement circles to convict him; a win for the defense will have deflated every other effort to bring him to justice and the judge knew this. I don't know how Ted's legal team didn't. I should ask.
