A Conversation About the Riverman, 1984, Part 6

Or going back to other places where he’s left bodies. But there’s a good chance he feels somewhat constrained. I mean, there’s no question, he could probably do one a day if he wanted to. You know, for the time being. Basically. There’s some times where he does do one a day! This is why I don’t think the guy has just stopped. He has very intense, as you can see here, periods where he gets one or two a day at times. And that’s an extremely intense kind of need that just doesn’t go away. But there are times I’m sure he recognizes that if he keeps doing it as much as he’d like to do it, then he’s just courting disaster. He’s going to make a mistake and he knows it. So there are times when instead of actually doing it, he’s just going around hunting, and pretending he’s doing it. Uh, ‘pretending’… but, just going around, let’s say, maybe developing more information, finding out where more prostitutes-- where they’re hanging out. Maybe just stalking them. But not snatching them…”
