Ted talks about Monty Python, and childhood memories

In this second tape from January 26, 1980, Ted watches Monty Python in his cell and records a running commentary ("well it beats the hell out of Hee-Haw, anyway").

Later in the tape he discusses his early memories of racism in Tacoma and his friendship with a Black family, as well as his beloved dog, Lassie.

I enjoy people who speak like that, I enjoy the volcabulary

That doesn't look anything like Ted, I always thought Ted was to the right of that boy

I call bs on the black family and his friendship with their son. He would have been tracked down by now. Sir Galahad Ted was not. Ted probably killed Lassie too, or else lured Anne Marie Burr out with her.

His eyes in this photo. What is going on in them!! I get wierd vibes from this little kid…

Wonderful! Good job cleaning up the sound, thank you!

Oh man, it was just getting good! A kid running free with their dog, love it. Thank you!

One of the first ever recordings where Ted seems relaxed. He’s not stammering nearly as much. I feel as if the man himself is coming to life because he if relatable, and who hasn’t sat and watched Monty Python. His dogs name was Lassie lol. I almost didn’t recognize him in this photo. Never before seen. Bravo!

He talks in such flowery language. It was not the norm then or today...thought he was so smart...
