Dearest Jim,
Hello! Here I sit supping on the delicious fruits of summer- in other words, I am sitting in the gorgeous warm sunshine on our front porch. After a week of such disgusting wet weather it has cleared off and is glorious. Hon, I am sorry I did not get to call you last night. I went into the city about 5pm, had dinner at a marvelous little Japanese 'hole in the wall' down in the International District with some friends then went to the Seattle Center Playhouse and saw Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Gondoliers" (program enclosed), then we went to the Windjammer for cocktails and to 'get down with the Boogey,' a good group was playing. I had to pick up Bets(?) at a friend's on Queen Anne Hill at 1am then we drove home. I guess the only drawback to living in Issaquah is the time factor involved in commuting, although other factors far outweigh that aspect of the situation.
Hey, hon, is your golf game improving any? I laughed when you said you 'refrained' from throwing any clubs as you knew you had from 1 to 2 dozen new ones (balls) at home- tsk! Are there some nice courses in Riverside? I would think that country would be more than geared for something like that.
So you waxed the truck. I know the sun really does a number on it huh? I guess I better get to the VW again soon although I guess I'll wait until I get it fixed- no use duplicating services- Hee!
Well, honey, I'm going to close for now. Not much really going on. Bets went out to 'the farm' to help Michael take their pig to market. I guess I'll take my bike out to Lake Sammamish and tan and read and swim. Great life!
I'm going to call you tomorrow so I'll probably tell you everything I put in this letter then but it's fun to get mail- Hee! Isn't that a drag it takes 5 days to get mail- lord ?! Someone could expire before anyone got wind of it! Whew!
I hope all is well with you, I am as always- happy and missing you.
Love,
Jan

Jim- I don't think you should inquire up here for jobs. I'll go down there- we need a change of pace. All will be fine, I know!

This is really chilling. “ I think I’ll go to Sammamish to tan and swim and read”. This one innocuous but fatal decision would cause her to lose her life the very next day and cause her to enter the pages of horrible history forever. If only. So sad.

It was a joke, at the time… eerie for sure. Yes she also drove a VW Beetle. I’ll bet she mentioned that to Ted. Her husband was in Riverside, doing graduate work in prosthetics I think.

She had a Beetle ? She mentions that someone could die while the letter is in transit ? Is that a joke ? Finally a golf reference in Bundy stuff; the hubby was in Riverside CA ? I think that city is relevant in the Zodiac case (people think Zodiac committed a pre Zodiac murder in South California I think it’s Riverside)

She wrote a letter the day before Sammy weird
