Diane Edwards

A King County Police interview with Diane Edwards in 1975.

"...Ted told her he'd gotten involved with another girl and he was trying to get loose of it, but it wasn't going to work out. Ted said that the girl had had an abortion (because of him) and that she called every so often. Diane didn't know the girl's name..."

Maybe by her saying that he'd apologize over arguing, that she felt he wouldn't stand up to her, she could be saying that he could at least stand up for himself.

Michael Clark

Is ot just me, or does she resemble Ted?

Carey

Then when he WAS "strong" of sorts, at least in his opinion, and refused to back down to her over his views on abortion he "got mean" and she "couldn't believe it". I always saw Diane as an entitled girl, coming from a certain type of priviledge

Joy Mulvaney

I find it rather funny that one of her main issues with him was that he wasn't "strong." That when she would get mad at him, he'd apologize rather than engage in argument. I don't know of any modern women who want a man who prefers to argue over apologize. Times, they change.

Nunya consoin

No, never to anyone but police and Ted’s psychologist.

Tiffany J.

Has she ever discussed Ted.

Kristi Webb

Yes, she is. She worked in real estate for a time and married a man who would eventually become the CEO of a major banking company. She still lives in the Bay Area of California and is active in charity work.

Tiffany J.

I also like too to read all you have on Diane. Is she still alive?

Kristi Webb

Ah, I see what you mean.

Tiffany J.

One article erroneously said she went into LE, but she did not. She had a career in banking and real estate. That is ironic, isn't it? His family was ashamed of him, not the other way around.

Tiffany J.

Thank you Tiffany for sharing this! I would love to read all that you have on Diane. I read somewhere that she went on into law enforcement. Don’t know if that is true. Ted is so despicable. He was ashamed of his family, yet in the end it was his family that suffered the embarrassment, humiliation, and hatred from so many people because they were Ted Bundy’s family.

Linda Lasater

Yeah in 1972, I meant he probably took the story as inspiration to better craft the lie

Sets and the CD

No, Liz really did have an abortion. But here he was clearly telling Diane that he was no longer involved with Liz, which was a lie.

Tiffany J.

Feeling like this is McChesney's report after which she got the famous photo of them that was then photocopied and given to Liz. I'm sure the whole abortion story was a cover in case she called...

You’re the best Tiff! Diane—hopefully one day we hear more fr her!
