I don't have a physical tattoo; it's a figure of speech, and kind of an embarrassing one in hindsight. Basically I was just saying that, like you, I'm interested in her, and I've pondered her image enough that it's imprinted itself upon my mind. I'd share any facts you want to know, but you probably know as much as I do. One of these days I'd like to make contact with some of the remaining folks who knew her and perhaps put out a better biography of her and her family than what's generally out there, but for now Tiffany-Jean's site here is my biggest source of facts. By combing through her file here and the interviews with her sister you can extrapolate some interesting things, but the picture is far from complete, and it's obvious that, like most of us when you look honestly, she had many conflicting sides to her. Outside of here there are obituary comments from which we learn that she and Jolene were in high demand as baby sitters, that the two of them seemed to come as sort of a package deal in their friendships, at least outside of school, that they were considered a 'fun' family, and of course that every other person who describes her uses the word 'Beautiful'. There are also the videos on Captain Borax's Youtube page, though I take many of his assertions with a grain of salt. He's made claims about Melissa's story that don't quite fit with other versions, and when I've reached out to him about this he's promised to get back to me but never has.

2022-10-14 22:29:37 +0000 UTCAs a person who has Melissa Smith's smiling face tattooed on his frontal cortex, I always find the bits about the pubic hair evidence some of the hardest things to read on this site. What a pitiful legacy for a promising young life. Not many details of Melissas life have been passed down, but from the little hints we do have, she was a fascinating and complex person. On balance, she appears to have been a good person. She certainly deserved a better hand than she was dealt, but barring that, she at least deserves a more dignified legacy than a pubic hair plucked off the floor of a rapist's Volkswagen.
