Interview with Martha Stephen, 1978

Stephen: I remember the guy having blue eyes .... a bluish-green color.

Parrish: You definitely remember the blue eyes. Is there any reason...?

Stephen: Not really there isn't. There is one thing that I don't know whether I can explain it enough for a man to understand… another woman would but… I don't know… he gave me a weird feeling. The type of feeling that sometimes I was glad someone was at the station with me and I was not there by myself.

On February 7, two days before the abduction, she witnessed Bundy driving the stolen white van, and paying with a stolen credit card. She noticed several unusual things about the encounter...

I'm curious then how he managed to get so many women to trust him.

So many women have said that they felt a real sense of discomfort and Concern or alarm when they approached them.

This was extremely interesting - thank you! I could picture the whole thing playing out in my head, despite the many, many errors my mental imagery perforce would and surely did contain. I find this with all Bundy anecdotes/interviews - like magic it becomes so vivid it's like being there. She comes to the conclusion he was right handed was is false, but then I think if he was indeed carrying "his" card in his left hand I can see why she came to that conclusion. I'm right handed and I think would carry my card in my left to leave the right for opening the doors and stuff and then take the card to my dominant hand to pay.
