Hawkins Abduction Coverage, 1974

KOMO News coverage of the Hawkins abduction on June 12, 1974. Interviews with the Kappa Alpha Theta house mother, Mary Bates, and sorority sister Phyllis Armstrong. Phyllis would later recall Bundy's attempt to pick her up ten days earlier, in the same area, using the same MO.

Not sure if that's stupid, brave, or just plain crazy of his to go BACK to the crime scene, of a crime HE perpetrated, to pick up items relating to said crime, and think he'd not get caught. I mean that's gotta be some kind of luck on his part, he had good timing, or something...

The force of the crowbar blow to Hawkins' skull knocked her from her shoes as well as dislodged her earrings. He rode his bicycle back to the scene of the abduction to retrieve the items left as the police were canvassing area.

Yes thank you for posting this. Didn't Ted return to the scene of the abduction at some point because he dropped something? I wonder if anyone inadvertently got that on video?

Michael Clark

A good find! Thank you.
