Keppel and Liz, 1981
Added 2024-07-25 05:50:39 +0000 UTCI ran across letters between Bob Keppel, the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, and Jerry Thompson discussing the possibility of charging Liz Kloepfer with obstruction of justice after the release of her book "The Phantom Prince" in 1981. I've also included copies of the newspaper clippings Keppel and Thompson enclosed, as well as Keppel's transcribed 1978 interview with Liz and his notes on her conversation with Bundy.
According to this, both Keppel and the police in Salt Lake were seeking a way to charge Liz with a crime after her book came out. Do you think their efforts had any merit?

My understanding is that "the entity" was just the way he described his urge to kill, lacking any other explanation. Like all serial killers he lived a compartmentalized life, only revealing this entity to those he intended to kill. Whether or not it was under his control, I suppose, is a philosophical question. And one we will never have a satisfactory answer to.

So much of what Bundy would say was BS to save his butt and I've read more than once, including here, where "the entity" was simply a way to separate himself from his crimes. However, and I'm not expert, but there are extreme states of Depersonalization that can feel like you're not in control. I would ask could that be part of what he is trying to say and he just didn't have the words to describe it other than an "entity"? Even if he had such a state of mind it's still ALL HIM! He did it all. But could extreme mental states of Depersonalization explain what he's trying to attribute to an "entity". Is there a Depersonalization Disorder or something similar; or am I totally off?

2024-07-27 22:26:56 +0000 UTCSeems quite absurd. If memory serves, Liz was one of the first to attempt to bring Ted to the attention of investigators, long before she had any reason to seriously suspect him of being involved with the murders.

2024-07-25 22:40:33 +0000 UTCOf course Keppel wanted to charge Liz, even after all she had bad been through. The Seattle pigs really dropped the ball in the investigation and probably wanted to try and save face by being able to say "at least we charged *someone.*"
