My favorite Pokemon is SNOMMMMM

Io

oh you bully, that ending XD

Magnus Taliesin

Noooo I wasn’t laughing at the jump scare I legit remembered it was gonna happen when the scene started and immediately went “oh no.”

Edda

Casper's denial of main characters dying make me laugh and want to cry at the same time 😅🤣😭

bunny

Oh my God, I knew Casper was younger than me but I didn't realize he was 3-4 years younger than me. (I don't know when his birthday is, but he says he's 24 here and I'm 28.) Anyway, loving this so far!

Carly Chapman

This

Carly Chapman

I believe Liam's mother was fighting Cancer or had passed away from it when that moment came up in the actual campaign

Carly Chapman

35:31 the switch up between him saying bye and immediately going to death threats sweeted me

Kane Furlong

(Also since you mentioned you're now playing BG3 w/Luke Holt, I am contractually required as a RQ stan to inform you that Myrkul is a punk-ass skeleton poseur and the Dead Three can suck it. Kelemvor & RQ are the proper cthonic gods of Death, and Myrkul is merely the God of Bad Horror Movie Effects & the Halloween Bargain Bin.)

amBarthes

I love the Raven Queen/Matron of Ravens so much. Best possible Divine Sugar Mama in the various D&D realms, IMHO, and one of the few good things that came out of 4e. And Matt's version of her in Exandria is a wonderful interpretation as well, really love how her lore has grown through the campaigns.

amBarthes

The moment I heard you weren't watching these back to back I worried. Cause that is a hell of a cliffhanger to leave it on! In the campaign man. This was... SO emotional! Especially because it was another turning point in the campaign. Liam (Vax) wasn't in the best of places emotionally and what he offered was everything for his sister.

Phamy Caint

I only know some of his M9 songs, and LOVE them! I didn't realize he made VM songs as well. I'll definitely have to check them out

PumpkinSparks

Now we are finally at the point where I can recommend a piece of music: Far from me by Chase Noseworthy is a fan song about these two episodes and it's really good. Imho worth a reaction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWwL91selsE&pp=ygUcZmFyIGZyb20gbWUgY2hhc2Ugbm9zZXdvcnRoeQ%3D%3D

Vittelius

Casper: That's an eagle Me: You're about to find out how wrong you are...

Stephani Moss

And Hermes guides dead🤣 all the death!!!🤣🤣🤣

Phoenix Mackenzie

The mods have already given him timestamps... He's ignoring them🤣🤦

Phoenix Mackenzie

Additionally, in Critical Role death always has consequences. The simplest one being each time you die it gets harder to come back as the strain on your soul gets worse. But in some cases like this one, the consequences are obvious but Vax gave something to save Vex, now we need to figure out what that means.

Nicholas Paynter

19:30 as someone who has Heterochromia, this is the 1st time I've ever heard of the term getting mixed up with Homophobia, but just hearing the statement "My cat has Homophobia" has me CACKLING 🤣🤣☠️☠️

Jenna Murdock

Yes, intelligence is Grog's lowest stat. There's a great line from the first episode of the live play where Travis/Grog says "I have an intelligence of 6, I know what I'm doing" it's an ongoing gag that's got some great funny and heartfelt moments

Critical Devil

Also about the whole, "this didn't happen in the campaign" part...actually it did. And it played out very similar to the show. Liam said the line, "Take me instead, you Raven Bitch" and immediately you can see the storytelling gears in Matt's head start to spin. It's a simple sentence that ends up having serious ripple effects in the whole campaign. I definitely recommend you watch a table to screen video of that scene. It translates very well. Their reactions both in and out of character are worth watching.

Imara121

Not laughing, not having a good time at your expense. I believe that same jump scare happens twice more, once in the final episode of season three but I can't remember when the other one happens. Hopefully someone in your Discord can tip you off in advance. What's happened to Vax is a big deal - in the stream, it took place in 2016 but was still driving storylines earlier this year. It should have an impact. But there are different ways of having an impact, and we watch this for entertainment. Scary, sure - but 'fun scary', to borrow a catchphrase from a later player-character. So - no, not enjoying seeing you freaked out.

Andy Darley

I liked Kashaw in the campaign, but I freaking love him in the series! He has so many banger oneliners!!! And I would not put it past the writers that they were just genius and nailed his tone. But having seen many things where Will Friedle was being Will Friedle, I would not be surprised if a high percentage of those were ad libbed by him.

PumpkinSparks

Far From Me and Hound are absolutely phenomenal pieces of work!

Kiki

Soooo... for all that Matt Mercer is an absolute genius at world-building, he does have an unfortunate talent for inventing names that sound good in his head but trigger hysteria from his players when said out loud (especially Laura and Sam, who have the filthiest minds). The reaction here to the name of the Matron's champion, Purvan Suul, is exactly the reaction of the players when Matt revealed the name in the original campaign. Including Sam's comment. Also - apparently, part of the reason Keyleth blushes and gets all fluttery when she sees Kash is that Marisha had a crush on Will Friedle as a teenager...

Andy Darley

The absolute purest face of disapproval Casper gave to the camera at the hour and three minute mark SENT me! And as soon as I start giggling helplessly... "You having a good laugh there?" O.O I've been called out!!

Hayley Miller

So the belt in fact does alot of amazing things. It's called the Belt of Dwarvenkind and it basically buffs him and makes him more "dwarf-like" (and dwarves like him more). It was a big deal for Grog because his race, Goliath, don't grow facial hair and the belt gives a beard to anyone who wears it (whether or not they can normally). He was way more proud of the beard than the buffs so this is a hilarious way to translate that to screen.

Imara121

The moment you said, "I'll watch one, then I have a game, and then I'll watch the next one" I KNEW what was going to happen and where you'd have to stop, and oh man. Oooohhh man.

lotsaravioli

Fun fact about Grog's beard. Goliaths can't* grow facial hair, so he he got his belt (Belt of Dwarven Fortitude I belive) it (among other things) made him slowly grow a beard and it quickly became Travis's ritual to wake up from a long rest and roll to see how much of the beard grew in

Nicholas Paynter

Trinkets mum was suffering. They let her go peacefully 🥹

Clarissa

Now that you've seen these episodes I can recommend/request that you check out a song! An artist named Chase Noseworthy has made many songs based off of d&d and Critical Role. He has one that I particularly love called "Far From Me" that is based off of the events in these episodes! You should definitely check it out!

Brady Thompson

God, having to go play after that episode is... Unfortunate

Mikey

The pain is important for the experience! We all had to wait a full week due to the 3ep batch releases, so you need at least a little while to ~feel things~ XD

Eliška Svobodová

Hades is the god of the dead, Thanatos is the god of death

Doctor Hoovy

just wanted to let you know for “reasons” that the bird in the credits/intro is a raven
