2024-07-12 17:40:58 +0000 UTCRenee Elise Goldsberry (Angelica's Actress) is INCREDIBLE--not only does she do both the rapping and singing so well, Lin has said that 'Satisfied' was her audition song--he didn't knwo the directors had picked it as the song of the angelica actresses to audition with and was worried that none of them would be able to do it well, since they wouldn't have long to learn it, but--if memory serves--Renee knocked it out of the park with less than 24 hours of prep, I think?

After the rewind, the same choreography from Helpless is repeated in Satisfied. It is obviously done at a different pace and with a few modifications, but as a dancer I love this detail!

2024-07-12 02:24:03 +0000 UTCUnfortunately, George Washington didn't attend Hamilton's wedding 😭 He was away, as he was still commanding the Continental Army. Not only did Washington not attend, but he had also been reluctant to give Hamilton leave at all to get married as they were in the middle of a war. The wedding was a small affair with only close family present. I don't think even Angelica had attended the wedding, as she was in England at the time, and trans-Atlantic travel during the war would have been difficult. Though I still love Washington and Hamilton's relationship in the musical, and I love the idea of Washington officiating the wedding. While Hamilton may not be the most historically accurate, I still love it, and the songs are all bangers!

However, the Schuyler's didn't really approve of Angelica's husband, as Angelica had eloped with him. I believe only Eliza and Alexander had a proper wedding, and Eliza was the only one among her siblings who didn't elope. Angelica and Alexander did have some flirty letter exchanges, though. I guess Lin-Manuel Miranda took some creative liberties, and ran with it. Though, I'm not stressed about it haha. "Satisfied" is a banger!
