July is officially done and over with, and it's time to look ahead to the dwindling rays of summer sunshine. I hope you've all been having a wonderful summer, wherever you are, and that your upcoming August proves to be enjoyable, exciting, relaxing, and whatever other positive vibes you're looking to manifest in the next month.

Speaking of July, though, you may recall that I opened July with a hope to release Book Two of The Aurelius Archives by the end of the month. Well, obviously that hasn't happened.

Did anything go wrong? Nope!

Long story short, I'm sitting in the middle of a perfect storm of schedule complications. For one thing, we're currently in the last few chapters of Book Four of Suddenly A Succubus, and they've all been quite long. We're coming up on the end of the First Act, remember, and I've got a lot of big things planned for this book.

I'm also writing Daughter of Damnation which, due to its dual time period structure, has longer chapters itself. Between writing those two books and my day job, it's been difficult to find the time to really knuckle down and work on the published version of Book Two.

I have been working on it extensively, though. I'm almost finished making all my final additions to the updated manuscript, and then I just need to make my last proofreading pass. The cover of the book is like, 90% finished, and I'm just waiting on the final cover art from the absolutely amazing Linda Noeran. This is the same artist that did the art for Book One, and I can't wait to show you what she's whipped up this time!

Thankfully, all the work I did last time has continued to pay off. Designing the cover, for example, was much easier this time around as I already had a template. There was no need to hunt for the perfect font, figure out what beveling is, stuff like that.

With all that in mind, I'm going to continue to be optimistic.

My hope is that I'll be able to publish Book Two by the end of August.

Will that happen? Who knows! However, giving myself these goals helps me focus. As an additional incentive, I'm going to be bringing back the 50% off discount for base-tier membership, starting on August 11th. (I would start it sooner but Patreon has rules about discounts running too close together.)

Additionally, I'm going to running some other fun discounts as I prepare for publication!

Within the next week or two, I'll be making a post specifically about those other deals, but for a quick teaser: the Paperback version of Suddenly A Succubus will be going on sale for the very first time, and I'm also going to start offering autographed copies of my book! Again, more details will come later this month, so keep your eyes peeled ♥

Anyways, that's a lot of publication news, isn't it? What's going on with my actual writing?

Well, as I mentioned above, we're in the home stretch for Book Four of Suddenly A Succubus. This is the end of the First Act of the Series, and it's going to be BIG. My Beta Readers can attest to this, but there's truly never been a better time to be a patron ;)

Daughter of Damnation is going really well too! I was pretty nervous about the dual time period setup, but not only do I feel it's been working as intended, it seems like people really enjoy it! I've seen a lot of readers that have a soft spot for Evelyn, and it's nice to give everyone more time with our favorite mommy succubus.

DoD is actually going to be a shorter book, and will be ending with Chapter Seven. Surprisingly, this means that it's going to be ending the week before SaS Book four ends!

This is a crazy coincidence, but I'm so excited for it. The two books are, in many ways, in conversation with each other, and I think the ending of Book Four will be all the more powerful for everyone reading both series as they come out.

Because of this fortuitous coincidence, and because Book Four of SaS is the end of the first Act, I'm planning to take a very small break from my normal publishing schedule. For a few weeks after both Books finish, I'll be writing bonus content exclusively for my Patreon, and members will also have a chance to vote on what I write! As I said above, this is a very good time to be a Patron ;)

Lastly, I've got another fun surprise in the works, and there's a good chance I'll be able to share what that is soon.
