January 2025 Update

Is it really 2025 already? Dang.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season, and for those of you with holidays that are still ongoing, I hope they finish strong! My week off of writing was quite relaxing, it was nice to have one less thing to worry about as the holiday stress piled up.

That being said, I'm very excited to get back to it! The chapter I'm writing this week (SaS 35) is going to be a big one, and it's something I've been itching to get to ever since I started writing this series. I won't give you any spoilers, but I will say that the chapter you're all getting tomorrow is also a pretty impactful one. I almost feel bad that y'all had to wait the extra week after the cliffhanger I left on, but that's life!

In other SaS news, my publication journey continues! I've been hard at work finalizing my rewrites, but also digging into the fine details of the rest of the publication process. I shared the cover with all paid members earlier this week, but I'm also learning how to format everything for official release.

I'm really really hoping that I can get Book One released by the end of this month! I think I'm still on track to make it happen, especially since I've got more free time than usual for the next week or so.

With that in mind, I'm planning to share as much as I can about the publication process over the course of the month, while also occasionally dropping in the group chat to ask random questions. Most importantly, I'm planning on putting together a post that details what the differences are between the version of Book One available for free online vs. the version I'll be officially publishing. There are more changes than you might think, but I promise the overall story is exactly the same.

I'm so excited to have this chance, and I think the finished product is shaping up to be something really special.

I don't have too much news on the Blood & Chlorophyll side of things. There's some exciting plot points on the way, but overall the story will just be continuing as usual. At this point, we're certainly closer to the end of the story than we are to the beginning, and I'm very curious to see how everything wraps up.

As busy as I was over the holidays, I did have some time to dig into projects on the horizon. Obviously I've got the book I started for NaNoWriMo, but there's something else I've been secretly cooking up in my spare time. In the grand scheme of things, B&C actually went on much longer than I expected, and while I'm perfectly happy with that, it does slightly affect my long term release schedule in ways I can't quite share yet.

Before signing off this update, I'd like to pose a question to you all.

Would there be any interest in putting together a Discord server? I've been purposely avoiding this because so many people and groups have Discords, but I can't deny its a fantastic resource to have. It's something I've been thinking about since I've been using the Community Chat function recently, and it's not very great.

I've also been posting more frequently on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which has been a great pressure release valve for random information that's time sensitive, too small for an Update, or various pieces of non-story content.

I'm on the fence on this decision, mostly because I'm not sure if the time is right. If my Patreon keeps growing, and I hope it does, I think a Discord is inevitable.

If I do make a Discord, there's also the question of if it's Patreon exclusive or not. Right now, I'd be tempted to have it open for everyone, just in case there are fans of my work who'd like to receive updates but can't afford a Patreon subscription. I would still have Patron-Only channels, obviously, but I could use the whole thing as a kind of mailing list.

On the topic of a growing Patreon, don't forget that you can gift memberships now! Nothing says "I love you" quite like a subscription to high quality demon porn!

Anyways, let me know your thoughts!

I certainly appreciate the concern! Personally, I think that all the changes do nothing but enhance the story, so hopefully everyone else will as well :)

While I find myself excited for publication of SaS I am also concerned for it. Editors have a tendency to butcher a story for what "they" feel will make for a good story.

It's still absolutely something I want to finish, and I promise I haven't forgotten about it. I ran into a weird convergence of incredibly busy periods, which stopped me from working on it. Once Book One is published, I'll have no weird factors stopping me from getting back to the Tessa Side Story, and maybe even Side Stories beyond that!

Is there any news on the Tessa spinoff, or is that firmly in the "it happens when it happens" zone?
