I wrestled with that one for a bit, honestly. In the end, I decided I liked the implication that Amara's transformaton over the course of the book had been so eventful that it just slipped her mind. Plus, even if I were wrong about how it felt, it's a pretty quick moment. I'm glad you liked all the other scenes though!
