Added 2022-10-14 21:27:15 +0000 UTCOne minute, you're studying with your shy friend at her safe haven on campus. The next, she's caressing your hair and face softly, flustered but intrigued, revealing her deepest desires.
Apologies for the delay! I planned to upload this audio last month, but I got caught up with building my new Discord server and editing YouTube audios. This sweet little audio took me much too long to edit, and I was really feeling the pressure to finish it yesterday. But thank you, Jeroen and Beatrix, for reminding me to be kind and patient with myself on Discord. I finished most of the audio last night and spent today adding the sound effects and ambience. I hope you enjoy this one!
Be sure to give your favorite audios a like to let me know what you enjoy and want more of!
Thank you,
Moon
Edit 10/16/22: Hey all. I've noticed that my audios can be a bit sibilant, so I spent some time researching how to fix this. I've applied what I learned to this audio. Does it sound a bit better? Worse? I have the old audio file if the quality is worse. Do you notice a difference at all?
Has the sibilance bothered you at all in the past? I'd love to know how I can improve the quality of my sound for your comfort and immersion.
Edit: 10/19/22: Thank you Konstantin Bruns for your feedback on the change. I've decided to restore this audio to its original form and aim to reach a balance between clarity and sibilance in future audios.

Sibilance is an interesting issue, and a difficult one to deal with in post without introducing other issues (like compression, artifacting, and muffling). I've done audio narrations in the past -- I've got a passing interest in reading creepy pasta stories -- and I struggle with both sibilance and popping my Ps. The best way to prevent this stuff is through vocal control and researching microphones that naturally tackle sibilance at the hardware level. Removing it in post is a headache if you don't have industry-quality software (I just use open source Audacity). Even basic white noise reduction can really reduce overall quality and clarity if you're not careful. Based on your updates to the post, I didn't get to hear the version that you tried to clean up, but I think the raw version currently here sounds just fine. Your level of sibilance has never been an issue for me. It's there, but it is rarely aggressive and I think it's one of the qualities that makes your narrations unique compared to other creators in the same genre (along with your enunciation, which is occasionally drawn out in a unique way that really suits your narration style). You don't seem to peak your levels or go into registers that cause audio distortion, nor do you aggressively pop your Ps. This has all been a long winded way of me saying that you seem to be a bit self conscious about aspects of your performances that are perfectly fine, and in some cases are what distinguish you from other creators. Your uniqueness of narration is part of the reason you were the first narrator I decided to support on Patreon. I hope this feedback is helpful. 🙂

2022-12-28 22:05:48 +0000 UTCI didn't realize that was unintentional, or that it was a named thing. It's definitely an ASMR trigger for me.

2022-10-19 17:08:23 +0000 UTCPersonally, I've never been bothered by your sibilance. On the contrary, I like it. On some words, you seem to delay the pronunciation of the last syllable which - for some odd reason - adds a lot to the calming effect your audios have on me. And it is your sibilance that makes that stand out a little more. In terms of feedback on the technical side of this audio, for me it's tuned a little much. The sibilance has been reduced, yes, but I feel like your overall voice is less clear as well. Though I'm sure there is some middle ground to be found where the sibilance is reduced a little yet your voice is still as clear as before. I have never used a word this often immediately after learning about it.
