At the risk of bringing down the mood: life and circumstance has caused me to sort of miss the window of opportunity to build a family of my own, so these wholesome family scenario RPs are comforting on sleepless nights. Some people might consider it pitiful or even pathetic, but sometimes the fantasy is better than nothing, you know? It can be difficult -- even embarrassing -- trying to explain that to people. I've discussed these issues with my therapist, and we're always looking for mechanisms to help me cope with the mental anguish I feel over never having made a family for myself.
