(Chit-Chat) What is Love? (And What is it Not?)
Added 2024-08-31 20:37:13 +0000 UTCIt wasn't until editing this roleplay that I realized how inaccurately my character defines romantic love. But if her definition was incorrect, what was the correct definition? Is there even a correct definition, if each of us experiences love differently? I decided to sit down and take you through my thoughts as I pondered questions such as: What is love, and what can mimic love? How do you know if you love someone? What makes someone fall in love?
My definition of love is in no way the definition. As you'll hear, it's highly influenced by my lived experience, and it will likely change in new contexts. For example, I've never experienced the love that a parent feels toward their child, which would undoubtedly influence my definition. But until then, this is my 24-year-old, just-beginning-to-feel-independent, childless-and-in-a-stable-relationship, definition of love.
P.S. I can't stop humming this while writing. Just thought I'd share!
