The Closer: Lucas Office Sketchs
Added 2017-12-02 09:34:18 +0000 UTCI've got my work cut out for me on this next comic project, so I thought it'd be good to update everyone on what's been keeping me busy! I'm planning to do a holiday picture (voting for that will be early next week), in addition to a few other art projects alongside this comic work.
So without further ado, on to the set design progress!
The script for "The Closer" has gone through several draft edits and adjustments over the past few weeks, and is fundamentally complete. I've been buttoning up a few set designs that will be used in the first dozen pages or so, including Lucas's office, pictured above. These are concepts that will be used to shape the complete 3D sets.
This is the bathroom you can see a short hallway to in the upper center of the office image. There's a lot to model and set up for baking, so I'm getting some outside help to speed up the process.
I included a quick render of the scene, blocked out for scale. Basically everything will be replaced with completed assets, then I'll be tuning the lighting and texturing to button it up.
Here's a sketch of Andy's penthouse apartment I shared with patrons several months ago, included here for newcomers. Lucas's office and Andy's penthouse apartment are the two biggest assets needed to begin drawings for pages.
Current estimate for the first page arriving is mid december.

A good percentage of this comic centers around a gay relationship between the fox intern and his bighorn boss. There's some aspects of debatabley straight action, but I mustn't spoil it...
